Mainz 05 and Nike have announced a long-term partnership. From the 2008/09 season acts as a Nike official supplier of Mainz.

Mainz 05 and Nike have announced a long-term partnership. From the 2008/09 season Nike acts as the official kit supplier of Mainz.

The new Nike kits of Mainz will remain in the traditional club colours red and white for the home shirt - and away in black. All other teams of 1 FSV Mainz 05 - starting from the second team to the youth teams will show the swoosh, the world-famous trademark of Nike, on the chest.

"We are ready to work with Nike's new ways to make significant progress and are looking forward to working with the largest sporting goods manufacturer in the world," said 05-manager Christian Heidel on the new partnership, "I want to thank Lotto for seven years of successful and friendly partnership. "

Bernd Schmider, Nike's man responsible for the area of team sports, reflected delighted on the new partnership also: "The 1 FSV Mainz 05 stands for modern offensive football and therefore adapts to the philosophy of Nike. We look forward to the partnership with this ambitious club. "

The jersey stands out for its Dri-FIT technology, the use of breathable mesh to fit the specific requirements of the modern professional football need. Another element of the partnership is the new match ball of Mainz 05 - The 90 Total coach which will be used in the league and DFB-Cup home games. This ball was designed to set new standards for performance characteristics, such as resistance, precision and visibility.

With Nike they just become another Teamwear clone.
