New Arsenal 08/09 Nike Home football shirt ?

E-mail

is this the new arsenal 08/09 home Nike shirt?

There were some leaked pictures of what seem to be the new arsenal home and away shirts made for the 08/09 season by Nike back in January. Now 3 months later these pictures appeared on the web.

It's not sure if this will be next seasons home kit, we have to wait for the official kit launch for that, but there is a good chance it is.

new arsenal 08-09 shirt?

is this the new 08-09 arsenal shirt made by nike?

I don\'t think the design, if real, will go down well with Arsenal fans for the distinct lact of white sleeves. I recall the first ever Nike kit they had in 94/95 had red underarms which weren\'t popular with fans, but at least the white sleeve parts on those were prominent. On this kit however, the white looks more like part of the shoulder trim, it just doesn\'t look like an Arsenal shirt.

I know some people may mention the redcurrant in response but that was a one-off.

the sleeves need to all white as already mentioned. not a fan of the white sides either. overall not a nice jersey but have a funny feeling that it is real. seen a new aston villa jersey with the exact same template. perhaps nike leaked this to test the market. hopefully they\'ll get enough negative responses to see sense!!
looking forward to seeing the return of the yellow/black away kit.

If this so called original shirt is being already sold in Hong Kong I think we can all sleep easier in our beds tonight. Who remembers last seasons rumours about Arsenal\'s current away strip. Pictures went around showing a white shirt with red sleeves. I dont think the Arsenal establishment would allow another kit not to have our beloved white sleeves. I say it\'s a fake.

I think it will be the real shirt. But I hope NO

This doesn\'t look like n Arsenal shirt...but a Charlton shirt!

It recalls 2000-01 Arsenal shirt, the one sponsored by Dreamcast.

Too much of white on the sides, and the sleeves should be all white.

My vote would be 1/5

The worst Gunners shirt maden by Nike, probably the worst ever

I\'m a Gooner and I LOVE this shirt. It\'s got enough white not to look like a Liverpool or Man Utd shirt and while I like tradition as much as the next guy there\'s only so many ways to do red with white sleeves. I think it\'s a tasteful reinterpretatio n of the classic Gooner stripe. Nice job Nike. The Highbury shirt was great as was the last home and the current 3rd. Keep up the good work!

Surely you know that \'soccer\' stands for \'association football\'? Then you might also know that it\'s a bit of arrogance on our part that we insist that our game be called just \'football\' while all other variations of football must use the descriptor.

Ours was not the only sport to be called football way back in the day and we have no more of a claim on the word football than supporters of rugby, Australian rules, or gridiron.

I don\'t like calling the game soccer either, but just \'cos someone else does that doesn\'t mean they\'re disrespecting it.

The game \'Sensible Soccer\', the 70\'s book \'Kevin Keegan\'s Book of Soccer Skills\' - both British, both made by football fans.

fake because Nike wouldn\'t put a \'Nike Team\' label in the bottom corner, like American football jerseys have. If you don\'t know what I am talking about, look at the last picture, the bottom left corner of the shirt (if you were wearing it) or the bottom right corner (from another person\'s perspective). The shirt has a jock tag, looks too 1990s to me.

It\'s like another variation of this jock tag

It\'ll probably look nicer up close rather than photos as usual, which was similar to the current shirt and that has turned out to be most Arsenal fans favourite shirt ever. It\'s design is too close to that of seasons 99-00 and 01-02. No all white sleeves either, I\'m really hoping this isn\'t it, but too much evidence to back it up.

Hopefully NIKE come to their sences and make a much better shirt.

I don\'t design the shirts, I\'m assistant to the director of football advertising. Can\'t say that I personally fancy them, but they start to grow on you--especially when the players wear them. The nike team is on there because it is a team shirt, and we want to promote it as such. Besides, it\'s so small and one-colored that you can barely notice on the pitch. Lastly, shirts are expected to be tucked-in, but as you and I both know the players usually un-tuck them: hence, the small size.

That shirt looks sh*te, I\'ll be proper glad if Arse \'n\' All turn out in that next season, it\'s a step back in the evolution of their kit if you ask me, obviously whoever designed it goes to the same optician as Arsene himself. Roll on the day when Arsenal realise that they are smug c*nts, it\'s all very well playing attractive footy but have some fecking modesty. Yeah I\'m talking to you Persie Van Injured and Cesc \'Hard as Nails\' Fabregas. Gooners SUCK!!!!

Nike, and when he went there, he brought me back a replica of that exact shirt, although i have to say that the shirt in the picture doesnt look like a final copy, the one i have is really nice, its really good material, better than the one we have before, also, its really good because the red is nice, its a darker shade..a touch class to it.

Ive seen on the Arsenal shirts and im happy to say this is the real home kit. Some are saying its revolting, but people weren\'t saying that at the days of Ian Wright and Anelka were wearing it. It the same design as the dreamcast sponsor kit and i believe it great. By the way the away kit is a goldy yellow of exactly the same design.

BTW Daz, Most likely Hleb won\'t be with us next season. Nasri is believed to sign after Euro 2008. Both kits are good but not showing the evolution of shirts like adidas have done. But even adidas have been poor in terms of Premiership teams Chelsea\'s kit looks Sh*t and so does Liverpool\'s.

I HAVE SEEN the new kits in person and although this roughly resembles the new kit IT IS FAKE 100%,
I HAVE SEEN BOTH AWAY AND HOME KITS and the home one is almost identical to this one, the black outline stripes on the sleeves are thinner, the MATERIAL IS DIFFERENT FROM THE PIC and is the same material used now, it doesnt have victoria concordia crescit written on a basic sewn white line THE LOGO LOOKS IRON ON!!, this is a fake replica of the NEW ONE. The new one is just like it, the AWAY KIT IS the same design in Gold and dark blue based on the SEGA away ones with a red outline.. and the white away kit is next seasons 3rd kit.

Nike in my eye uses the retro styles and reworks them into something modern, adidas uses modern assymetrical, usual \'three stripe\' designs and is just plain boring from a design standpoint, look at chelsea, Liverpool, ACMilan Galatasary are all the same desingns in different colour schemes. Nike deserves more Kudos than people saying Nikes boring-PAH
were lucky to have the swoosh on \'our\' side, they are the best for the best teams!.

This Kit is amazing, it reminds me of the 1998/1999 season , i love retro style kits, the blue line surrounding the white strip really makes the kit to be honest, this could be the best ever arsenal kit, if the shorts and socks are good.
