Olympique de Marseille unveiled their new away kit for the 08/09 season made by adidas. The originality comes from its printed jacquard. The design is very "today" and with this trendy design, cut and polo style collar, the away jersey has everything to seduce supporters so that they can wear the colours of their club to the stadium, and outside on a daily basis. According to tradition, the other 2 official jerseys 08-09 (home and third) will be presented later.
I am APPALLED! This has to be a joke. After the sheer beuty of last season's orange shirt they create this monstrosity! I think a little bit of sick has just come up into my mouth.
The above shows a representation of the new OM home shirt. It seems a bit basic but the city crest is a fantastic touch. Marseille only has one professional team (correct me if I'm wrong) so it really is the club of the people of the city and represents the city against the rest of France.
I don't know how much truth is in this design but I'm hoping the crest part of it.
This has to be the best new shirt release.
Retro is back so get over it people and if anyone says this is rubbish then you are simply in denial or have no style what so ever,
Granted its a bit chavvy but look past that and focus on it being more retro and then its just awesome.
I hope that ac milan 3rd kit have similar style, but i don't think... :?
Spero ke lo stile della 3a maglia del milan sia simile (ovviamente con fondo nero e inserti rossi), ma non penso sarà così...
I never thought I'd be a Marseille fan but this shirt has made me into one. This is a brave shirt from adidas, it's so easy to roll out the same templates with club colours and not design something interesting in an away shirt. Hats off to then, where do I get one?!
I think this could take football shirts into a different level... I mean, shirts will bo no longer just for playing... can be also to go out... and that's just awesome
Great colours, innocative design...yes, this is a cracking kit. Fair play, Adidas has put out some utter rubbish over the last two decades, but this is absolutely superb. Only criticism - it looks like the design doesn't continue onto the back of the shirt - but maybe that'll look good in the flesh too.
I know people reckon it looks chavvy-like but fair do's its a great looking shirt. Adidas seem to let go of themselves when designing kits for Marseille, e.g. that bright orange one from last season, not so much the combination with the sky blue but also the print design all over the shirt too.
Also it's not the first time Adidas have made a kit with a jacquard print on the front, the Belgium away shirt from 1984 was very much like the tennis shirt design, but with black, yellow and red.
[color=teal]It is beautifull-sort of reminds me of the Belgium white with argyle print back in the early 80s'. Plus it does make you think that the home kit will be a variation on the theme with an argylly horizontal stripe
across the chest, regards to the dumping of the orange kit-Marseille(and all French clubs aside Lyon) change 3 kits every season-this begs the questioin how long is an acceptable lengh of time to keep kits?In an ideal world I would keep kits for 3 years, changing the home 1 year, the away the next year and the 3rd the final year thus guarenteeing different designs and choice each year(training kits etc would reflect the colours) plus if you didn't like the kit wait until the following year. Of course it would never happen but there you go.
God this is just horrendous. In five years, we'll look back at this piece of junk and wonder how in the hell someone could actually come up with this.
I'm fed up with this marketing bullshit.
Come on, don't you think this is getting out of hand? This season Marseille hosted Liverpool in the Champions League, and they played with orange shirts whereas Liverpool players had black shirts... I guess th historic colors and jerseys dont mean anything anymore. It's a shame.
To those claiming that it's a cool vintage jersey, get a clue, how is this vintage?
CHELSEA SHOULD MAKE THEIR AWAY LIKE THIS. FUCKING TERRY WOULDN'T LOOK SO BAD WITH HIS FEET UP ON THE PENALTY SPOT IN A SHIRT LIKE THIS. THE ARROGANT USESLESS TOSSER.
