Doncaster Rovers unveiled their brand new Vandanel 08/09 home shirt. The new shirts feature the logo of new manufacturer Vandanel, as well as new secondary shirt sponsor Stoneacre - and will be the shirt worn by the Rovers for next season.

The sale of the new shirt comes after sales of the red and white hooped home shirts soared with the Rovers reaching Wembley and price reductions. Doncaster Rovers would like to clarify that there are NO GBP 20 Rovers home shirts available. The new 2008-2009 Doncaster Rovers away shirt will not be available until a later date. Shirts start at GBP 29.99 for youth sizes and GBP 39.99 for adult sizes, however only YL shirts are available for youth supporters.

Bit of a strange one - as far as I can tell it\'s exactly the same shirt, rebadged.

Vandanel did something similar with Yeovil\'s old black and yellow away kit a couple of years ago when they took over from Paulos Benara (sp?)

I can\'t see Carlotti having gone bust, they are owned by Streetwise Sports, who themselves got bought out by Mike Ashley at the end of 2006. Maybe he wants to discontinue the brand, but S[censored]horp e\'s new third kit is still made by them. So I really don\'t know why this has happened.

I really really REALLY hate sponsors on the back of the shirt,
ESPECIALLY where the name should be.
It\'s sickening

Rovers are aware that the club has had a lot of shirt changes over a short period of time recently. The club took the decision after changing kit supplier this season to keep the new kit as close as possible to the last, so fans would not have to fork out again if they bought a new shirt last season.

Of course some will still feel they have to collect every vesion of the shirt.

Leeds fan Ryan?

Anyway, it is almost the same, they look to have reduced the number of hoops by one or two.

On last season\'s shirt the top hoop colour on the front is white and the hoop below doesn\'t flow into the arms like it does on this one.

Rovers have definitely taken the proverbial piss with new shirts in the last few years and this shows such a little difference that I won\'t be buying it. First time in ages, but money is tight.

You can see the exact differences with the two latest shirts (and also see how many we\'ve had of late!) here:

 This shirt is dreadful. Being promoted to the 2nd tier should carry with it and equally improved shirt. I will not be buying!! What a cop out. What a shame.

As a girl friend of a donny fan I feel I have to buy this shirt. It can only put a smile on the fella\'s face if he hasn\'t paid for it right?

I was with him in a bar when we watched there last game against Leeds and he was the only Donny fan in there. To make matters worse he didn\'t have a shirt either so I feel it is my duty to make sure he doesn\'t go through that again this year. Yeah? :s

Still a Red & White battle of the roses strip.. the OLD 1931 hoops linger on...
WHY O Why ?? Don\'t we go right back to the start and use a redesigned and updated version of the original 1879 kit.. Navy Blue shirt with Gold X, White shorts, Navy Blue sox and a Tam o\' Shanter. ( Scotish Cap.)....mabee drop the Tam...
But in my own view the smartest kit we had was either the 1950-1952 kit followed by the 2000-2001 kit..
OR .. to sort it all out let Rovers have a design a kit competition...the top 5 - 10 entries are published in the local rag, match programe, and displayed in the town center shops etc... Then let the supporters vote at set locations to decide our new team strip??
If you want to know what all the old Rovers kits looked like i found this site...http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Doncaster_Rover s/Doncaster_Rover s.htm
Well what do you think ??
