Chelsea unveiled their new black away kit and goalkeeper kit for the 08/09 season made by Adidas. Chelsea's traditional away colours are all yellow or all white with blue trim, but, as with most teams, they have had some more unusual ones.
The first away strip consisted of black and white stripes and for one game in the 1960s the team wore Inter Milan-style blue and black stripes, again at Docherty's behest. Other memorable away kits include a mint green strip in the 1980s, a red and white checked one in the early 90s and a graphite and tangerine addition in the mid-1990s. The 2007/2008 Chelsea away strip consists of an 'electric yellow' shirt.

uni ted united is the team for me with a nic nac paddy wac give a dog a bone why dont chelsea [censored] offf home
jokes aside looks quite similar to 06/08 home shirt, but is definately nicer than new home shirt.
but adidas are getting worse each year if you ask me? no invention, watch out liverpool this is your new away kit
Sorry, what?
Anyhow I doubt we\'ll see the keeper kit get used at the same time as the away kit, even the most myopic referee can tell the kits clash so we\'ll be seeing Cech wear his bright orange kit even more now. Not sure why Adidas opted for an away keeper kit in almost a similar colour to the player kit
I quite like the kit, but it\'s still Chelsea at the end of the day, much better than their rubbish home strip with the dodgy collar...
It wouldn\'t apply to Steve Bennett though, he\'s Man Yoo\'s bumlicker ref.
Boring kit..
The collar is very much better than home kit one.
Hopefully the 3rd kit would be better?
The goalie cannot/will not be able to wear the black goalie shirt, the kit is dull really-aside the teccie stuff nothing spectaculer.
If it\'s supposed to be simplistic it doesn\'t work at all.
Nike can barely pull of simplistic designs because they don\'t have to worry about incorporating broad white stripes (that end in the middle of nowhere) down their sleeves.
I\'m pretty disgusted at how all the major brands have been dumbing down their designs recently. Look at the innovative kits from the World Cup 2006 and compair them to the \"less-is-more\" kits at Euro 2008. Even Puma have managed to make the very few good kits they had look bad (ie. italy)
Maybe it\'s just me ,but are all premiership clubs going for that MLS look?
Very, very disappointed.
The three stripes certainly seems to be a poisoned chalice, most people seem bored with it, yet when they dropped it from Bayern\'s kit a couple of seasons ago there was outcry. Still, I\'m sure Nike, puma, umbro etc would love to have such a recognisable trademark!
And Ballacks face... xD
This is gonna be our year - I can feel it... just wait and see, you pack of [censored]s.
Why do you go and post in Chelsea related topics if you hate them?
Idiot!
[censored]ERS!! !!
WE DID THE DOUBLE [censored]HEADS !!!
SUCK MY BALLS......[censored]ERS!! !!!!!
NOW THIS SHOULD BE INTERESTING?!!?!?
:Pinch: Do some research first. Chelsea are the only English club in the top flight that have NEVER moved stadium. They still remain at Stamford Bridge from day one.
No history you say? Hmmm, interesting...
I quite like it, although I would agree about changing the badge colour. They did that for last seasons one too. Destroyed many a retina!
I wish teams would move away from the black kits.
