Where the previous home kit focused on the history of the club and was elected for the traditional look, there are some more modern changes in the new 08/09 PSV shirt. There is also attention paid to the sporting elements like a well-balanced V-neck in black for a little more contrast. It is one of the details that kit manufacturer Nike and PSV both agreed to.
The basic look of the shirt, with red and white stripes, is not affected. One striking change to the shirt is the rear. This shirt has the upper part striped in red and white. However, a smooth red surface maintained for the number on the back, a requirement from the UEFA.
The new kit has a few notable details. On the back of the shirt collar in the 'PSV. " There is also a phrase from the club song on the inside of the shirt:‘Vooruit nu Rood-Witten, Vooruit PSV’. which means "Forwards now Red and White, Forwards PSV." The two gold stars above the logo are very finely embroidered.
The new kit will go on sale from Saturday, July 5, in the PSV FANstore. The club hopes that the new kit will be appreciated by the supporters and that they wear it with pride.
