Paris Saint-Germain unveiled their new home shirt for the 2008-09 season made by Nike who support the club since 1989. Le Coq Sportif were the original equipment supplier from 1970 to 1975. Adidas took over for the 1975-76 season, before a return to the first brand for 1976-1977. Pony was the supplier in 1977-78, before another joint effort with Le Coq Sportif, from 1978 to 1986. Adidas returned until 1989, at which point Nike took over supply duties, and they remain the equipment supplier to the present day.

Fashion designer Daniel Hechter collaborated with the club in May 1973 to design an iconic shirt which would become a strong symbol of the club. It was composed of a blue shirt with a red central vertical bar framed by white edgings. This shirt was originally in use in 1973-1974 in Division 2. The tone and shade of the red and blue has changed over time, as has the dimension and alignment of the red central band. This shirt is in use to the present day, despite proposed implementations of new designs, with the main reason being the supporters' rejection.

Fantastic shirt it is a great pity that Lillian Thuram not can play for PSG because he had problems with his heart he can be a captain for PSG. But is a very nice kit. :grin

Its not black! It´s a very dark blue tone! You can look in Photoshop or guess the color code of it with a chart.

But I´ve ever liked PSG Kit and I like that the Stripe is on the back now too. Think I´ll buy one.

I like PSG alot but if I was a proper fan I would be disgusted by that shirt. It is exactly the same as the last 2 seasons. What a shame the fans should be ripped off.

I'm a PSG fan and i don't want it to change.
It's like asking a Real Madrid fan if he wants to change the merengue shirt of his team...
It's part of our identity now.

It's quite similar to last year one,but it's very much better
thanks to no blue between the red stripe and the white trims.
I'm also glad of the return of the red stripe on the back,we missed it from 2001.

Anyway I still can't stand the blue panels for number and sponsor..I miss old 90's PSG kits,in wich nothing used to stop the carachteristic stripe

It is a return to their kits from the 90s' with the stripe, last year the stripe was on the side.
The coller is so old-fashioned though!
For instance the Holland home kit coller would have looked excellent with it.
The Russian coller would have worked as well.
Oh well it's only for a year.

I bought this shirt from Paris for 36 euros on a sale.I think theymix the new with the old for the sale, but who cares i was lucky .In the official store it was 70euros.
