AZ 08/09 Canterbury football kits launched E-mail

az_canterbury_08_09_kits.jpg

AZ unveiled their new Home, away and 3rd kits, supplied by their new kit supplier Canterbury of New Zealand.

AZ Football Director Marcel Brands and President Dirk Scheringa are delighted having completed a three-year partnership with Canterbury. "The official playing strip looks very fine. Canterbury’s global presence as well as their innovative and fresh thinking approach to kit manufacturing will help the club to develop both on and off the field and wonderfully fits our own image", explained Dirk Scheringa.

"We aim to make only minor changes in future to our home kit: a red shirt with white sleeves, which is in line with our traditional image", added Brands

Kew Jaliens, Stijn Schaars and Joey Didulica put on the new playing shirt at a special press conference held after the first training session. "It fits true to size and width and makes a nice change. The new kit will hopefully bring us luck."

Dirk Scheringa: "Canterbury’s global presence as well as innovative approach fits our image."

Canterbury supply their products to, among other clubs, Deportivo la Coruña, Portsmouth en OSC Lille.

Hmm, red ones ok.
Blue ones a bit crappy.
Black ones just more or less Portsmouths from last season.
Gk is average.

Doesnt help with them stupid tight fit tops on underneath.

overall...3,2,2,3

the home collar looks too big but maybe its the fit top they have on underneath

3rd shirt is surplus to needs surely..

I like the black kit.

Next season will be the second of Canterbury in soccer. I like the designs of this supplier.

avatar Not the best, but I like the simple design of all three. Plus the fact that CCC makes them is a big plus.

damn...i was looking forward to see how the kit looks like when they announced that canterbury was making it. i don't know...the colors are alright...don't think the design is nicely done though.

avatar My impression is these kits(not just in AZ Alkmaar's case), made by Canterbury, have a backward designs in comparation with nike, adidas, puma or umbro.

They think they are Arsenal with the home shirt.

Stomme alkmaarse boeren.
figueros   |2008-07-01

Though this coming season they'll look more like Arsenal than Arsenal do!

What is up with the huge collar on the home and away jerseys? They'd look good if the collar was a normal size.
McG   |2008-07-01
the third shirt is EXACTLY the same design as this years canterbury deportivo away top.
martin   |2008-07-01
watzup with the collar?
FDV     |2008-07-01
avatar CCC DOWNSIZE THE COLLAR PLEASE!

Home kit deserves a good 3/5, the only bug is the huge collar.

Away: I'm sick of Dutches teams' sky blue away kits.As regards the collar read above. 2/5

Third: a littl boring..but better than away one. 2.5/5.

GK: awful, it looks like they merged several templates! HOS

Both these & the Portsmouth kits actually offend me! They are so bad.

Canterbury made a real impression when they took on Portsmouth & we all expected big things from them.

This is a very poor effort!

And no one has noticed the dodgy pose by the bloke on the left in the red kit?
ToonPhill   |2008-07-04
god i bloody hate those big collers, they look ridiculous it makes me feel sorry for az and pompy fans
