The brand-new collection of the Lotto Sport Italia home kit for the 2008/2009 season was unveiled.
The Italian sportswear company, acting as Technical Sponsor and Official Supplier until 2013, will provide QPR with the apparel and accessories for matches, training sessions and leisure time, for the First Team through to the Centre of Excellence.
Created by Lotto's Research and Development Centre in close co-operation with QPR, the new team uniforms are the right fusion of designs characterising the Club in the past and the present, integrating the new Club crest.
The First Team kit features the traditional Hoops in reflex blue and white, as required expressly by the Club being its distinctive colours. However, the Hoops have been revised with new graphics enriched with silver details, visible on the front insert of the collar, on the stitching on the sleeve set-in and on the Club logo. This latter component, which is the new and innovative, has been translated into a high definition patch.
The shirt has a fitted shape fit and is made of Poly Tech Stretch, an extremely lightweight, breathable elasticised fabric that ensures maximum comfort and the least amount of fatigue during play.
The shorts come in two interchangeable colours, one in reflex blue and the other in white. As well as the Lotto logos on the side, the team crest stands out in a reduced and more proportioned size than on the shirt. The collection is completed by a proposal of leisure articles for the team: short-sleeved and long-sleeved polo shirts, as well as hooded sweatshirts in line with the streetwear fashion.
The articles are personalised by means of the crest on the back, created in silver with a ginned and antiqued effect. Carbon jersey, the fabric chosen for the polo shirts and sweatshirts, is a cotton treated with a special finishing which makes it particularly soft to the touch and give its a vintage look.
Not bad, not a huge fan of lotto designs - don't like the big lotto panels on the sleeves, I think the sponsor looks a tad rubbish, bilingual never looks great, but because the text is so thin it looks a bit like a pub team sponsor!
I agree both witht he red lotto panels( the tennis tops don't seem to have them.) and the fact you can barely see the sponcer which would surely defeat the purpose of sponcering QPR in the 1st place.
The hoops are fine, tidy as is the coller(though very similar to LCS kits of previous years.).
The sleeves look like Readings to a certain degree.
Love the shirt and logo. Love the bilingual thing. It says we are an international force to be reckoned with -- watch out world here we come!! Seriously, it shows that we have big ambitions and that the corporate world is buying in.
I actually designed this kit for Gianni - the neck should have been finished in Red but I only had a Grey Crayon at the time, so this not the finished article....Wait for Turbo Thursday Aye
Aye
The away kit is red and white quarters
We will have a different sponsor for the away kit as well
all will be revealed on funny friday
tune into WATRB for the latest club news
Not a fan of the badge, and no shirt has ever been enhanced by Lotto's big stupid red squares thrown all over it. God almighty, the shirt is blue and white, why on earth should there be a big red square on either arm, it completely is not in keeping with a design that they themselves have put together!
Shame really, because the shirt itself is quite tastefully done apart from those red squares.
raj cheers for the input must have taken hours to think that up!
End of the day not a bad show from lotto thought it would be shocking so nice surprize to see the hoops not messed with.
amazing shirt, ignorant people about shirts should know that Lotto uses high-tech materials and the style of the shirt has always been cutting edge. It's probably the only sporting goods company which gets closer to the three giants Nike-Adidas-Puma
Cause i think it spoils the kit, im a MAN U fan it takes a lot for me to like other teams kit bu i just dnt like the ARABIC onit, if they had GULF AIR in bold black letters then it would look really nice
I have been a QPR fan since 1963 and I have got all of the shirts (Home & Away) and an abundance of QPR memoribillia.
In my opinion, the main target for 2008/2009 is to get promoted into the Premieship and if it takes wearing a blue & white hooped babygrow to do it I don't care.
Take away the badges and the sponsorship and what you are left with is a Blue and White Hooped shirt which is Queens Park Rangers F.C. and that is what counts for me. However when you add the badges and sponsorship you add value to the sum of c£20+ million pounds over five years. That is a pretty rich shirt you buy for £39.99. What other club in the Championship has that return and prestige.
QPR have been mismanaged in the past by Directors who really could not care less about the club and turned us into a selling club while amassing debt.
In 2008 the reality is we are now solvent thanks to some business men who have gone with the trend of purchasing a Football Club but with the interest of the club at heart and thanks to them for making this the most exciting season to look forward to and If we are succesful in our campaign then the next step will be to produce an impressive stadium for the loyal supporters to admire and call there own.
Regards to everyone and remember....Little steps are the key to success.
looks cheap and nasty and the sponsor makes them look very money grabbing and not like an english team
Just how many premiership teams are sponsored by English companies. We are going to be GLOBAL just like our current sponsors, and not just known around West London like our previous sponsors were...
Personally I think it's a very good effort. Considering the rumours and counter rumours of what the shirt was going to look like and hoopless on the back I think it looks quite snazzy!
I've a feeling that the Coca Cola patches would have to go over the Lotto patches but then again I've always thought that blue and white hoops with splashes of red is very patriotic.
As for the badge...it's growing on me. I remember back in 1983 when the badge was last re-designed (to replace the blue and white hooped shield one) there was a big furore and many people disliked the new one, fast forward some 20 years later and they prefer that one! Some people eh?!
Wow, they managed to make that badge even worse by just pasting it on a cheap-looking white background. Looks like something I'd expect to see in the German 3rd division.
I don't like the fact that the ARM colours are different to the Hoop Blue colours.
I agree with Don - that kit with the Guinness by Adidas was a Masterpiece. I miss that kit so much. We had a lot of success with it in the early to mid 80's.
I love the top however not keen on the red shorts, thought it may have looked better with white shorts with blue stripes down sides and Lotto logo imbedded in them like it is on the arms of the shirt
I remember the old badge pre 82 so the change is not too bad. As for the kit would have been happy with all white sleeves, too much blue gets too close to Reading. I hope the shorts are white, don't like hooped socks they should also be plain white. RED numbers please!
wohooo! im from bahrain and gulf air is from bahrain! finally we have a made a mark for ourselves other than F1!!
part of this sponsership deal is for qpr to help our national team qualify for the 2010 worldcup, were currently in the final qualifying group stage with australia, japan, uzbek, and qatar so we need all the help we can get if we want to finish atleast 3rd!
dont like it at all the sponspor looks shit and the lotto logo on the side makes it look like a sunday league team and qpr are not they are the best team and watch out chelsea were comin for u
