Hearts 08/09 Home Umbro football kit revealed E-mail
Thursday, 03 July 2008

hearts_08_09_home_umbro_kit.jpg

Hearts revealed the new 08/09 home kit made by Umbro ahead of its launch on Friday 25th July - and for the first time in the club's history the Jambos will be in all-maroon, next season!

The pure-maroon design, a real 'back to the roots' classic is likely to be highly popular with supporters, and will remind everyone of the 2006 Scottish Cup victory!

Like the away shirt, the home shirt features the club's year of formation, '1874' embroidered on the inside of the collar and the words, 'Hearts, Hearts Glorious Hearts' on the inside of the bottom of the shirt.

The brand new home shirt, which features very small white flashes reflecting the Umbro brand, is sure to be popular given it's the most 'maroon' shirt produced in many years!

Using Umbro's climate control technology, which makes the fabric highly breathable, the brand new home shirt is fantastic to look at, and wears exceptionally well.

this is the best hearst kit i have seen in quite a few.
the simplicity of it is really effective. Hearts could have gone for an overly decorated shirt like the last 2, but im glad they didnt, they can rarely pull it off.
brilliant shirt, reminds me of the cup winning run in 06.
true example of 'simply the best'

however , i wont be lining vlads pockets and buyin this shirt until i see results, on and off the pitch. im prayin that does happen, cos i really do like this shirt.

You'll never wear it then, because Hearts are shite and Vlad only bought you for the land under Tynecastle! You'll struggle to finish in the top half this season. Shirt looks pretty much the same as the last umbro one. Quite nice though.

Oh, OK then...

Mad Vlad would be better off asking one of those kids to manage Hearts as no-one else wants to.
tinbo   |2008-07-04
Almost perfect in its simple design, if only the designers could have resisted the temptation of that silly white stripe on the socks.............................
Prastama     |2008-07-04
Hate the socks

avatar Nice and simple, but the sponsor look like crap.

Now I am a Hibee and I wld have to admit that last season Hearts had the best kit in the SPL - but this is awful - it looks really cheap and nasty - back to what hearts are all about.....

We have joked about it for years but I am afraid that I really do think Hearts will do a Gretna this season which would be a real shame

why is vlad trying to turn hearts into fbk kaunas?
dus he own fbk kaunas? if not maybe he shud sell hearts and buy that instead, to save himself the trouble of spending all year signing lithuanians for a scottish team.

on topic...
its a great looking kit
Anonymous   |2008-07-04
he does own fbk kaunas

the hibs shirts looks cheap and nasty especially that yellow away!
craig hamil   |2008-07-04
the hibs shirts ARE cheap and nasty.
its a scientifically proven fact....
their by le coq sportif.............
that says it all

avatar another full strip in one colour.......very euro 2008!!
KRAP   |2008-07-04
You'd think umbro teams that had umbro kits back in the 70s-80s (Everton, Hearts, Sunderland) would cash in on the retro craze and do authentic retro kits from back in the day... the old Hearts umbro kits were great.

I like that the sponsor isn't huge and doesn't overpower the shirt... but is 'banka' rhyming slang for something...?
eldred   |2008-07-04
its probably lithuanian for 'bank'

I'm a Hibee as well.To be honest,I am not at all impressed with the new Hibs kits.I always thought the Hearts jerseys were good.I think the maroon would look better with a wee bit of white trim. They should have kept the white shorts as well.
Scoobie   |2008-07-05
I think I remember well that there was a fair amount of slagging about 'same coloured shorts' when compared to their Edinburgh neighbours (who used to have white shorts also).

Oh dear. Now Hearts have it too. Bet it gets cleared under the carpet.
Dandy Don   |2008-07-05
From the two Edinburgh clubs the order of the strips are as follows.

1. Hibs Home (really nice)
2. Hearts Away (copy of Ajax but pretty decent)
3. Hearts Home (boring, bland, maroon is not the nicest colour in the world anyway and all maroon is not easy on the eye)
4. Hibs Away (far too much going on, should have been all white)

Mind you if I was a Hearts fan I would buy both (they may be collectors items in the next few years the way things are going). I would also be doing more than sitting around whilst this maniac ruined my club - maybe Hearts should have had a yellow strip instead of Hibs.

Am a gers man through and through...but this top is quite nice.
farewell frail   |2008-07-10
u cant complain with this kit, as it is so basic and nothing not to like, except from mybe if your one of those colour blind Edinburgh folk that walk down to the leith docks to contemplate suicide and on there way back up to the city centre end up sitting through a hibs game just to convince themselves that death is the only exit.
shaun  - we,lldo a gretna?     |2008-07-17
we might just might do a gretna thats a maybe .but there is 1 certainty and that is yous will never do a hearts and win the SCOTTISH CUP YA LEITH HING OOT TOO MANY DRUGS IN YOUR SYSTEM CANT EVEN SPELL SCOTHISH CUP,SAY NO MORE

CANT EVEN SPELL SCOTHISH CUP,SAY NO MORE

As for the kits, both teams have gone for more traditional home shirts but spoiled it by not having white shorts. Both teams have minging away kits. But the narrow minded will still try to score imaginary points on some obscure factor or other.
hibs til a die  - teribble   |2008-07-20
