Juventus have unveiled the new 08/09 home and away kits for their return to the top European level. On the first day back from the holidays, the new kit to be used in the 2008/09 season was unveiled at the Media Center in Vinovo. Technical sponsors Nike took inspiration from the Club's successful past to create the kits. Indeed the home strip recalls the legendary '70s period, while the away shirt's gold colour celebrates Juve's international triumphs.
The home shirt is obviously black and white, but with slightly larger bands than last season's one. The stripe in the middle of the shirt, under the V-neck collar, is black. After the use of red last year, detailing is back in the classic yellow, a colour which appears on the armholes, on the lower rim and in the front part of the black collar. The numbers (and players' names) and the famous Nike "tick" logo are also in yellow. The shorts are white with yellow profiles, with the swoosh and the number in black on the left side and the Juventus logo on the right. Socks are black with a white rim and have the Nike logo and the name Juventus on them.
The away strip is completely new. After using blue and yellow (recalling Turin's city colours), from summer 2008 Juventus dress in gold. And white, used for the armholes, lower rim, numbers and player names. Matching shorts are black with gold-coloured laces and profiles, while the Nike logo and numbers are in white. Socks are gold with a black and white rim and feature the swoosh and the name Juventus.
A few decorative elements embellish the kits: the name Juventus appears on the outer collar area at the back, while on the inside the word "Bianconeri" appears, accompanied by two stars.
The materials used are the latest in cutting-edge technology. The main body of the shirts is made with Nike Sphere technical fabric, which is extremely light and allows the skin to breathe, reducing contact and allowing sweat to evaporate quickly.
Both the black and white and the golden shirts have the Juventus crest on the left side, just below the two stars representing the number of League titles won (in tens), making their comeback on the players' chests. The sponsor logo, New Holland, a company of the FIAT Group, is located in the centre.
I'm a bit disappointed, the previous home kit looked better than this one. Why they made the away shirt yellow/gold? Why they didn't made it blue, like it should be?
I totally agree, I'm defo going to buy it this year. The home is dissappointing. At first I thought it was Buffons, but lets just hope the GK's makes up for it. Blue
i agree with krog, nike have done nothing for juve in football shirt terms.the home jersey is boring with stripes with are too thick,a rotten logo as sponsor & the most disgusting shade of yellow i've ever seen.there is no collar whick typifies modern nike football shirts & which should be changed.remember del piero steping up taking free kicks with the collars up,class!they should return to kappa like the mid 90's when they were most succesful.blue & gold away then maybe.
i love the home shirt. it looks better when they put an extra detail colour like yellow or red on the shirt. it gives it a bit more flare. just black and white is boring. i really dont like the away shirt though. no where near as nice as last season's blue kit.
Agree that they should have narrow stripes. So pleased that they are continuing with the white shorts, as those black ones worn a few seasons ago were just not 'Juve'!
Whats the deal with Juve and FUCK UGLY sponsor's??... Tamoil, FastWeb, Sky Sports, Tele+, New Holland.. all big horrible blocky bits of shit that constantly spoil the shirts they bring out
I don't like the home shirt, the stripes are too thick and in my opinion the best home shirt was the one of 2005-06.. it was awesome. I love this year's away kit is quite nice and it does match with shorts and socks but what I'd love more is that they bring some star players to the team so we can win something.
Not what I had in mind~
I'm glad to see the red gone from the shirt "juve should never have red with them"
Though the yellow has gone a bit over the top.
The stripes a way too big, god I even thought last years were too big.............but now.................
agian, the only good thing is the 2 stars above the crest.
Away Kit.........mmmmm I'm not sure what they are trying to do with this one, bad choice of colours.
Overall: Let's go back to Kappa!
I like the broad stripes...it maybe not be traditionally juve, but
A) if they change the kit everey year they have to try out new styles broad stripes generally look cooler than narrow ones
why is sissoko on the pictures he played 9 games?! not exactly the beating heart of juventus! suppose they are aimig for the african market there though! i dont like them especially the gold one very tacky
look, juventus is one of my favourite teams.
the best match was, when juve destroyed
olimpiakos 7-1.I'm panathinaikos(because i'm from
Greece)and i hate olimpiakos.So,carry on doing thisq
