Nottingham Forest 08/09 Home Umbro kit launched E-mail
Thursday, 10 July 2008

Nottingham Forest unveiled the new 08/09 home kits Colin Calderwood's men will wear on their return to the Championship.

The Umbro shirt not only commemorates the club's European Cup triumphs of 1979 and '80 but also features words of wisdom from master manager Brian Clough. They will go on sale in the official Merchandise Store on Friday - with adult shirts priced at £41.99.

luv it! gr8 showing of history.. why cant united do this
januzoner   |2008-07-10
beautiful...

I find this kind of commemorative kits rather pathetic, particularly from clubs such as Nottingham Forest. It is very sad to see Brian Clough's wisdom exploited for base commercial appetites. One thing is being proud of your club's history.Cheaply showing off is a completely different matter.

Looks good, even though it is living in the past!
JDT   |2008-07-10
A nice way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of winning the back to back champions leagues.

Sentimentality is a good thing.... it keeps good memories alive, and if you have something to show off about, I say .. SHOW OFF about it.

The quote is great......
consider this....

Chelsea (if they ever win it).. :

''how did we win it ? well.. we bought it I suppose ''

History and tradition are the biggest things in football... This shirt got it both, with umbro as a dessert.
Supporter PergoCrema   |2008-07-10
I like this kit, it's simple but full of tradition. The emblem with the date of conquest of the cup is very nice (like nike style of 07-08 season). another special particular is the sentence write inside the shirt.

"How did we win it? well it was a lot easier in those days"
Anonymous   |2008-09-03
So what you're trying to say is that it was easier because Forest were so much better than the rest?
That's quite a compliment, I must say.

Same old Forest living in the past having won a trophy without playing anybody of note with OUR manager.

Cloughie is a Ram and always was.

You Rams

Dining out on past glories with the European cup badge. Most Forest fans wernt even born.
Perhaps Notts County should have FA Cup Winners 1894 on our shirt.

Nasty kit, too much red, may look good in a gay bar....prefer black and white kits myself...so does Kris Commons!!!!
Nick   |2008-07-11
By name,by nature, why is red considered gay?
Why is gay coinsidered bad?
What is wrong with teams wearing red or blue or pink for that matter.
Maybe the reason you are so hung up about it is because with a name like that....
PHILMYCOCK   |2008-07-10
Adidas is such a superior make than Umbro, don't ya think?

Think Trainers, think footy boots, think all sportswear, I mean Umbro or Adidas....come on down....the choice is yours!!!

Up the Rams!
Forest Fifer   |2008-07-10
Have you seen your new shirt? It's crap.

Adidas better than Umbro? That'll be why more teams in Britain wear Umbro than Adidas I suppose.....
fl3m   |2008-07-10
interesting new shirt.

compared to the old one, it's *slightly* different.
Legend   |2008-07-11
Philcock, it's a shame Adidas are presenting you with their cast-offs each year then isn't it?

After Dinner I Did A Sheeite.

Better than watching Direby!

I like the way that the 2008-2010 life span of the kit allows the anniversaries of both cup wins to be commemorated.

For me it's also good that the kit itself is not in a retro style; thereby celebrating the anniversaries rather than wallowing in them. I'm glad the current manufacturer is not Adidas, else the temptation for a near replica of the 79-80 kit might have been too great for them, drawing far more "living in the past" criticism from all sides.
Colin     |2008-07-11
Best Forest shirt in a few years. I approve.
Mackem 4 life  - Masterpiece   |2008-07-11
The nicest kit ive ever seen in so many years they have really set the bar this time it think its the nicest of the deade woo
Nick   |2008-07-11
It's smart, simple and smart, enough piping, trimmings etc to stop it looking over retro and earnest and with the white pipings, markings it is a good way of celebrating their 30th aniversary.
Man U do it on their 3rd kit, teams do it to celebrate 106.5years of being a club, so this is excellent kit.
Umbro have had some good kits so far this year.
Derby boy   |2008-07-13
Since when has 30 years been a milestone ? typical retarded forest fans

Yeah, Liverpool and Ajax were rubbish in them days.
NFFC   |2008-07-14
So what do you expect us to do, just ignore the 30th anniversary since winning the european cup? We're allowed to be proud of our achievements.

To the Notts fan who claimed we always go on about it, winning the european cup back to back is much more of an achievement than winning the FA Cup. And talk about us living in the past you always mention being the 'oldest league club in the world' blah blah blah when you can. Anyway, good job Umbro and Forest.
James  - what?!!?   |2008-07-16
Luca the on thing cheap, is you!! Get real!!
James-NFFC  - Brian Clough a ram =S   |2008-07-22
If Brian Clougb was a "Ram" - aka NobHead, then why, when Peter Taylor kept asking him to go back to Derby did he not go ??? hmmmm maybe because he is a RED !!! Why can't we celebrate our past !!! Your saying its sad because you have won fuck all !!! and that Brian Clough achieved alot more at the mighty forest than he ever did with the sheep !!!

Up the Reds........................Fuck the Sheep
manyoounited   |2008-08-01
they say that there good but why were they in league 1 last year
ramsuporter   |2008-08-17
thi shirts shit the club is shit the sponsor is shit . well not suprised they will come 24th oh and by the way derby will come first
ramsuporter   |2008-08-17
cloughie was a ram because he was not a homosexual like most forest bastards, the other day in class we were talking about evolution and someone brout up the idea that forest suporters will become human ofcorse that would only happen in 99 years
ShepsNFFC   |2008-08-18
No surprise the above comment comes from some little school boy. Come back when you've got something worthwhile to say.

Kit looks quality, you reds!
