Palmeiras 08/09 Home Adidas kit launched E-mail
Thursday, 17 July 2008

Palmeiras launched its new 08/09 Home football kit made by adidas. Palmeiras was founded by Luigi Cervo, Vicenzo Ragognetti, Luigi Emanuele Marzo and Ezequiel Simone, four Italian men who were members of the Italian-speaking community of São Paulo in 1914 and was initially named Società Sportiva Palestra Italia.

Its original colours were red, white and green (those of Italy). The name change occurred during World War II. Brazil entered the war supporting the allies and its dictatorship forced Palestra Italia to change its name because of the reference to Italy.

The original badge (a white ornamental "P" in a shield) is still present in the current one and the club has used red as a third colour (mostly in friendly games during the club's 75th anniversary). Palmeiras have played in blue shirts twice as a tribute to the Italian National Team.

Sweet kit! It really shows off that beautiful shade of green without any stupid ugly frills. It's brilliant in its simplicity. But isn't it funny how it's the dude who has the NHO (nipple hard-on)?

Looks identical to the Chelsea shirt which came out in 2006

Nice kit. Strange thing about sponsors on football shirts though, how so many of us are happy to walk around with an unrelated company's name splashed all over our clothes. If I bought a nice casual shirt, something to perhaps wear out for a nice meal, I'd be horrified if, slap bang in the middle of it, was the word "Tesco" in 3 inch high letters. And yet, if it's a football shirt, I'll happily ignore it. Actually, the FIAT logo is quite stylish (as far as logos go) and sits nicely on this shirt.

Blatantly a copy of the last chelsea kit, just in green instead of blue

The text has some wrong information: the third kit of Palmeiras is light green, not red and the original colours of the team in foundation are BLUE, white and green, not red ( again)

the third kit of palmeiras is light green http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/3532/palmeiras3yj2.png , but in foundation the colors are green white and RED, not blue the first logo are white and red and the shirt are green with one range with in center.

Im impressed of you guys! You don't know Palmeiras? How could it?

Well I'll explain some few things..

The main collor (home) is green. Along the years the pattern of green changed, but this "dark" green is closer than should be at the beggining.

Away is white shirt and green shorts. In my entire life never saw my team play with blue shorts, only when they played for Brazil in the 50`s.

Palmeiras' the number one team in Brazil. In this year (which`s the schedule is different then european) we'll be national champion's. You can see on the Fifa's site, or wanna a good brazillian one? www.globoesporte.com

About Chelsea, sorry guys, we have more champions tropphys, whateaver.. you just star to win recently. We have 94 wonderful years, so you guys looks like us.

The light green is the 3rd jersey, a market stuff to sell more..

Palmeiras, the century's champion in Brazil.
1 champs of world agains juventus 51' (almost two. we've lost for man u in 99)
And the best stadium of south america's in being builting for the 2014 world's cup.
We'll see here.

obs: The guy with the hard nipples is Valdivia. Number 10 of Chile's team.
