Cardiff City 08/09 Portugal tour Joma shirt (1) E-mail

Cardiff City will run out in two specially prepared Portugal tour shirts during pre-season. As modelled here by Stephen McPhail, the first of the two Joma shirts featuring the Vansdirect logo will be worn by the squad for the Setubal game on Saturday, then at the Algarve Challenge Cup next week.

Please note that these shirts are NOT the official shirts for the 2008/09 season, but have been graciously provided by Joma for the duration of the tour. The official home shirt will be physically unveiled at Ninian Park for our pre-season encounter in the Vansdirect Trophy with Ajax on Friday August 1st.

Cardiff City today officially revealed the first glimpse of the new Joma manufactured Cardiff City shirt for the 2008/09 season. (see below)

This year will be the last at Ninian Park as they reach the end of an era - and what a historical season it expects to be.

The new 2008/09 Joma shirt will reflect past glories while incorporating modern influences, with the 1970's blue and yellow being heavily represented.

Beautifully crafted detailing in the back of the collar and back hem tape pays homage to the date, scorer and result of the famous win at Wembley in 1927. A lenticular badge also commemorates the End of an Era celebrations which will continue throughout the season.

Thanks to Ben

Can someone please explain what is the point of these two shirts?
Also like to note that the badge from the pre Hammam/Ridsdale era has returned

This is a joma parks template....its the same design as the new havant and waterlooville away kit! Presumably the new shirts arent ready in time for pre season so theyve produced a one off cheapy to avoid wearing the old kit?
