AC Milan 08/09 Adidas home, away and 3rd kits E-mail
Monday, 21 July 2008

Adidas and Milan launched the new official home, away and 3rd kits and the new integrated communication project "Sign for AC Milan"

New AC Milan signing Ronaldinho will wear the number-80 shirt this season, the club said on Monday.
The Brazilian forward, twice world player of the year, chose the number because it corresponds with the year of his birth.

Ronaldinho usually wears the number-10 shirt but that is already taken by veteran Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani revealed that no-one at the club would force a player to relinquish a shirt number.

"We've never asked a player to give up his number and we won't do it this time," said Galliani. "That would show a lack of respect. The 10 is Seedorf's, he has it and no-one has tried to convince him to give it up to Ronaldinho."

The club's shirt manufacturer Adidas said they have already received 11,000 pre-orders for replica Ronaldinho shirts.

mclovin   |2008-07-21

do you wanna actually read the article before making a stupid comment?

What a terrible 3rd Kit. The shadow stripes are horrible, and they cheapen the red/black Milan kit. They are barely different.
Phil   |2008-07-21
lol no. 80 it's pitiful
nice kit btw
Supporter PergoCrema   |2008-07-21
It's not bad kit, but I prefer small stripes with the same width. 1st shirt is a mix of 2002-03 and 2006-07 shirts.
actually the real craig hamil   |2008-07-21
i like the home and 3rd, away is the same traditional white as always, a bit borin but who cares its nice.
these pictures dont do much justice tho, check them out on acmilan.com, pics of seedorf, nesta and kaka wearin them look so much better.

they hit the mark, perfect shirts
LU3YtheWOLF   |2008-07-21
Not really much change in the kits but they are still pretty nice.

Home shirt = Nice as usual.
Away shirt = Liking the off centre cross which makes the shirt a little different.
Third shirt = Pretty nice. Liking the faded stripes which also add something different to the kit.
Steven  - Not bad ...     |2008-07-21
... but the player's shirts will look much nicer with all the patches and embroideries. In addition to the usual sleeve patches there will be again the FIFA World Club Champion's patch as well as the embroidery "Il club piu notato al mondo", as far as I got informed by the kit man. We will see ...

I am very satisfied with these kits.

Home: much needed wider stripes (thank god!)
Away: classic, and the faded cross adds a little flair to it.
Third: faded stripes add some subtle detail for what otherwise would be a boring and plain kit.

The only thing I wish is that especially for the white kit that they would have kept the collar. Would have made it even more classy. I will be purchasing all 3 kits this year. Home: Kaka, Away: Gatusso, third: Ronaldinho (only if he impresses me)

I don't understant Ronnie..why number 80??

Okay it's his birthday but..
Kev   |2008-07-21
I actually really like the 3rd shirt, subtle and cool. A rare nice effort from Adidas these days

Lovin the black kit the home and white kit arent bad either
Stephan   |2008-07-21
is it just me or do only the fat brazilains play in the san siro. for instance ronaldo and ronaldinho both fat and need double figured numbers just so they don't show off that expanding waistline?
me   |2008-07-21
emerson, ronaldo... and now ronaldinho.. i guess ac milan like fat brazilians
raccy  - very good   |2008-07-22
i will buy all three coz i wait for a loooooooooooong time!
panji  - 80...???   |2008-07-22
Ronaldo = 99 = failed
Ronaldinho = 80 =......
Penis  - Shit   |2008-07-22
They NEVER change.
The t-shirt is almost always the same damn thing
HK Jamie   |2008-07-22
Much of a muchness from recent seasons. At least the collar is missing from this season's home shirt. I think they need to be be a bit more radical with the away and 3rd shirts which always seem to be solid white and black. Maybe a design based on the cross of St. George used on the club crest similar to what Inter used last season in their away shirt ? I thought that was pretty innovative.
fcb1893   |2008-07-22
Very similar to the last one, but cleaned up a bit. I like it!
Anonymous   |2008-07-22
yeah this strip will look great with Cham league badges on it
Ooh yeah i forgot their not in it!!!!!!

mclovin   |2008-07-22
hahahahahaha

champions league youre having a laugh

Sure pato, kaka and ronaldinho will love their trips to everton, pompey and Queen of the south in the UEFA cup!!!!!!

philip   |2008-07-22
At least it is better than last years monstrosity! However, I do think adidas have lost the plot, most kits looking like they were designed by Stevie Wonder
!   |2008-07-22
At least the home kit has stripes on the back, not like last year's messy red splodge effort.
Ryan   |2008-07-22
That's only for domestic competition. They'll still need to surround the number with a solid panel for the UEFA Cup.
Anonymous   |2008-07-22
Taken as a whole these are the best new team kits I've seen so far!
stu   |2008-07-22
shudnt he have jst been no 11 considering he won the world cup wearing that? well hes performances wont get any headlines so maybe his no will
RumanistaTrasteverino   |2008-07-22
What would have been nice to see on the home kit is black adidas stripes on the shoulders. It would have really brought out the red and black stripes and also given it a nice change from last season's. Also, gold numbers on the home and 3rd kit could have been nice just like 2 seasons ago.
giovinco   |2008-07-22
Agree with the comment above- looks great on the player's promo pictures- not so good here, look a bit ill fitting.
All shirts should have collars in my view but none the less, milan shirts are always smart
Felix  - ugly sweaters and few original   |2008-07-22
the away t-shirt copies the Inter's last year t-shirt because it has the cross (here it is white). Milan is a little original....are we now remembered that the symbol of milano is the ambrogio's cross ? (ambrogio is the patron of milano)
Anonymous   |2008-07-22
Firstly the away shirt is the same as all the old ones

The third is very good... but looks similar to the liverpool goalkeeper shirt.
Home= Average

zzzz boring as always... but what can you expect from a red-black combination?

Ronaldinho is trying to show his extra-weight with using number 80... that about been borned in 1980 is just a joke.
Anonymous   |2008-07-22
yet another team trying to rip off their fans by introducing 3 "new" strips which are almost identical to previous seasons.
Thijs  - ?     |2008-07-22
the home shirt is traditional, butt still nice.. the away is the same as last year, that's boring. I think the 3rd shirt isn't something special..
torres   |2008-07-22
the third kit is pointless if the first top is black and red why is the third black with some red? the others are nice
peter  - yaa   |2008-07-23
nice.look so great.luv it
plamen   |2008-07-23
i like the 3rd kit being black, but they hardly use the 3rd kit during the season, they should more often
Anonymous   |2008-07-31

james  - its better than last seasons   |2008-09-27
