West Bromwich Albion 08/09 kit without sponsor E-mail

West Brom Albion confirm discussions regarding a new club sponsor are continuing with interested parties.

While the negotiations are ongoing, the club is launching its new kits to ensure they go on sale before the Barclays Premier League season gets underway on August 16. Initially, the club will unveil and sell shirts without a sponsors' logo.

They will go on sale from August 1 without a sponsors’ name. Fans buying the ‘blank’ shirts were today promised a sponsors’ logo would be ‘welded’ to the shirts free at a later date.

The home kit will go on sale in Baggies club shops on August 1. The away kit, which is yellow and black, will be available a week later on August 8.

Talks have taken place with Carlsberg, Ladbrokes and Birmingham-based van-maker LDV.

johnnycakes   |2008-07-24

Bacon   |2008-07-24
Wow! If i were a west brom fan, i'd definitely buy a sponsorless shirt!
If only all shirts were without one.
Anonymous   |2008-07-24
Maybe they'll have a purple sponsor this year - go REALLY manly!
humidfreak   |2008-07-24
You should get a choice
Mikey   |2008-07-24
Well the sponser won't be Carlsberg will it, as thats Liverpools sponser.
Anonymous   |2008-07-24

bob   |2008-07-24

They should do like the penny saver ads with a difference ad on each shirt

'For Sale, 1986 Ford Sierra, needs a bit of work'

'Gutter Cleaner at competitive prices'
Keeping it real!   |2008-07-25
Nobody want's to sponser a team from the arse-crack of england.
Ramblers   |2008-07-25
Poor Baggies, does this mean they might not have a sponsor until they go back to the Championship?

That said sponsors do look crap. I think all clubs should give their fans the choice of buying a shirt with or without a sponsor, like they did when sponsorship first started
Fletch   |2008-07-25
yeah who gives a fuck about sponsors anyway ? . . . . they look shit.. I hate them on shirts....They STOP me from buying shirts I like...
Owen   |2008-07-25
Some football shirts have sponsers that really fit them, like Carlsberg with Liverpool and Northern Rock with Newcastle. They kinda become apart of the shirt, but in cases where that DOESN'T happen then the sponser just makes the shirt ugly.

West Brom should just keep it like this for the moment, be one of the only clubs to not have a sponser. It's not going to make them lose THAT much money and unless a local sponser that means something to the baggies comes along then it's fine as it is.
Rambler   |2008-07-25
You're right about Carlsberg and Northern Rock. Carlsberg gives me a headache and makes me sick and Northern Rock have made thousands of people poor and miserable.... so they are very like the clubs they sponsor
Ed   |2008-07-25
It's gonna be 'Floors 2 Go'.

Because everyones going to be walking all over them.

I'm here all week
SJ007  - AK.   |2008-07-25

Anonymous   |2008-07-25

Philip   |2008-07-26
Pity the poor Swedish fans, their team's shirts and shorts are covered in sponsor logos....they look like the cyclists in the Tour de France!
Baggie Tom   |2008-07-26
I can see there are dingles on here taking the mick... god luck in the championshp whle we have another Prem adventure.

Who cares about whether there is a sponsor on the shirt or not??
If thats the only thing you have to try to take the mickey out of us then I pity you and your club...

If you havent noticed we have 3 brands trying to sponsor us, we are just waiting for the best deal so whats the problem??
BRENSKIE   |2008-07-26
Ive got mine on order. I dont give 2 f**ks about the f**king logo. Its the colour of your shirt that counts!!! and at least that pink thing has gone off the front that was gay!!!!!!!!! and we dont look like a packet of cheese Doritos running around pitch. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
MFC4LYF   |2008-07-26
Cant they just have a bit of writing on the front saying:

WEST BROMWICH ALBION
ARE THE SHITTEST
TEAM!
BRENSKIE   |2008-07-26
we could have that written on the front but our average fans and players size is medium to large not f**king massive to fat b**tard. They are not a f**king advertising board. I heard Man Citys or was it Man Utds (i dont know ther both same) next new sponsors wer going to be some Thailand karaoke company. Something to do with the owner ???????
behcet  - mr     |2008-07-27
