Newcastle fans to boycott Adidas E-mail

A Newcastle United supporters’ group urged club sponsors and advertisers to cut their ties with Mike Ashley in a bid to pile pressure on the under-fire owner to sell up.

The newly-formed Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) issued an ultimatum to the club’s main backers Northern Rock and kit supplier Adidas to sever their business relationship with Ashley.

The organisation claims a financial attack on the billionaire sports tycoon is the best way for fans to end his time at St James’s Park.

And they say if the club sponsors and advertisers fail to respond they will boycott buying their merchandise and using their services.

A statement released by the NUSC organisation said: “What is clear is that Mike Ashley is not acting quickly enough to end his disastrous relationship with our club.

“The NUSC, with a fast growing membership, will soon be writing to the club’s main sponsors and advertisers to request that they end their business relationship with a Mike Ashley-owned Newcastle United.

“If the nightmare scenario of an Ashley-owned Newcastle United continues to next summer, then we will organise a highly visible and energetic campaign amongst supporters to boycott any new kit and merchandise being sold by Adidas.”

How are these people so fucking stupid? Don't they know Ashley is actively shopping around Newcastle to basically anyone who is willing to buy? They want him out, and now he's trying to get out, yet you still attack him? How retarded can you lot be? And don't boycott Northern Rock, unless, that is, you want to dig the global financial industry into an even deeper hole. Good stuff, geordies. Good stuff, and good riddance. HAHAHAHAHA well done geordies. They should be boycotting adidas for designing shite kits for the club for the past few seasons. I find this whole thing supremely hilarious and love watching it absolutely tear the club apart. I have nothing against Newcastle, but this is too much fun to watch, keep it up lads!

Thing is yes there will be people who boycott shirts, but really will it make a huge difference?
It is inlikely because kids will want the new shirt, kids do not really care about politics and their parents will buy them the new shirt, this means that adidas will still sell lots and lots of shirts regardless of who is in charge.
Another thing of course is that if they do not sell enough shirts then they will just change all three every season.
It is an interesting stance but not too sure if it will work.

I hope everyone reading this realises that NUSC are a tiny minority group and do not represent the views of many, many Newcastle fans.

In fact they have rightly come in for a lot of flak over recent statements, including the one this article refers to.

Why would anyone think that Ashley and Adidas were allies? They disliked him enough to buy back the shares he owned in the company. The only thing Ashley did wrong was to upset the club's not-brilliant manager by buying and selling a player or two. Even taking into account that he's a slob, he's not really that bad a chairman, who at least invested several hundreds of millions of pounds.

Mike Ashley came into football with ideas and dreams for one club, newcastle united. However this turned sour, but he did not set out for this to happen, in reality he wanted newcastle united to break into the top four and achieve sucess by doing this he wiped the clubs debts which stood over 10's of millions of pounds and brought back the man all newcastle fans wanted King Kev.

Mike Ashley did contribute to his own downfall by bringing in the likes of dennis wise ( who i think will be a top manager one day, he took millwall to an F.A cup final and finished in a healthy place in the championship) but the sole purpose of this was to scout the world for cheap young talent like Arsenal FC do and either sell them on to make profit or find another alan shearer, but however the set up felt like Kevin Keegan was being constantly undermined and keegan is used to the old school method of managing a club like Harry Redknapp does where he the manager is in charge takes charge and then the job then rests on "do or die" in the managerial world.

Mike Ashley could be blamed for inexperience and lack of understanding of football and how football works in terms of culture and set up however he did try to make Newcastle a great club and did wipe the clubs debts, on the other side of the coin selling players which Kevin did not want selling goes against the point of having a manager altogether and then the players loose respect as they know that the manager is not solely in charge.

Newcastle united is a passionent club with brilliant fans but these fans expect too much but they need to understand that the players they have arent going to get them a better than 7th or 8th place finish and they would have to work hard for that as well.

Protests and boycotts futher the view of how newcastle united is in turmoil and and futhers the fact that Mike Ashley is being used as a scape goat when in fact every thing comes down to a result on a football field and the players themselves are underperfoming on wages of excess of 60,000 a WEEK.

In conclusion Mike Ashley tried to hard and too soon with no experience and at times tried to hard to impress fans such as drinking non alocoholic beverages and having "king kev" on the back of his top at the emirates but he himself is not entirely to blame and boycotts like this are a drop in the ocean in terms of a fans revolt as adidas will always make profits elsewhere and adidas give newcastle united money to be their sponsor.

What the hell are the supporters thinking??

I mean its already good they still have a company to make kits for them. Northern Rock and Adidas are one of the main companies that Gives newcastle money.
I don't think Newcastle can't get a Sponsor more better than what they have now.

I mean, Newcastle are one of the less clubs that are going down but they still don't use a Standard adidas template in at least 2 of their kits.

The owners are trying everything to put Newcastle back on top.
The only problem besides the players are the supporters who are against them. And they call Themselves SUPPORTers, so stupid.

As a Newcastle fan I'm just as embarrassed by this group as I am with the club and former manager who spat his dummy out. NUSC does not represent me and a lot of other silent supporters who just want to get on with supporting the cub.
