Hull City must find a 3rd kit for their FA Cup replay at newcastle United as both their present kits clash with the Newcastle's black and white home kit.
In September 2008, Hull City followed Premier League procedures fully in the build up to the game against Newcastle in the EPL by registering their second choice strip in advance of this fixture.
It was only when the team arrived at the ground that the match referee, as is his right, decided that in his opinion the flint coloured away kit was in fact too similar to Newcastle United's home kit.
With Newcastle United's co-operation, they were able to wear their second choice white shorts and white socks to enable the match officials to distinguish between the two teams.
"We have got a massive problem - we don't have a third-choice strip," admitted manager Phil Brown.
"We can't wear our home kit and we can't wear our away. Hopefully Umbro can come up with something."

I\'m guessing this third strip will probably be an Umbro teamwear template cobbled up in time for the replay, something like this...
Sky blue - well, they\'ve had a number of sky blue change strips in the past so it\'s an estimated guess.
Newcastle in a way could wear their away kit at home, but I\'m sure the FA Cup rules stipulate that the away team must change in the event of a colour clash. Then, if there is still a clash, the referee will then decide on who wears what.
In other countries I know the rule is that the home team also changes kit if the away team\'s change kit also clashes. In the FA Cup in the past, though only confined to matches at neutral venues (i.e. the semi-final and final), both teams changed kits in the event of a clash.
Newcastle wearing anything other than black and white at home is nothing new - in 1993 they were actually forced to wear blue against Sheffield Wednesday, who had turned up in a white kit with black pinstripes (as their home kit and black away kit also clashed). Did them good actually because they won 4-2 or something like that!
As for England wearing red at home, they mainly do it for promotion of a new away kit, even so much as forcing teams which normally wear red to wear an away kit for that match (like the Swiss had to last year).
And the 1966 factor.
and Croatia wore their away at home to England, cuz England\'s white home and red away clash with the chequered white/red of Croatia!
Umbro almost certainlly put out a pale blue number instead, however....
Still, it would be an excellent money spinner for the club to introduce a third strip in Hull\'s inaugural Premiership campain, I for one would rush out and buy it!
-Birmingham away
-Glentoran home
-Cruz Azul home
Your getting mauled by the Tigers!!!!
1. Didnt wear the goalkeepers green kit with short sleeves if needed (And dont give me the sh it about \"what if they want short sleeves\" well it doesnt take a scientist to find one in the club shop)
2. Didn\'t wear the plain amber one from last year.
3. Newcastle wear their away kit for one match clubs have done it before I.E Aston Villa vs West Ham both wore away strips.
