RetroFootballTShirts.co.uk are helping to “Bring back the good old days” by stocking over 3,000 t-shirts of former terrace favourites like George Best, Steve Archibald, Kevin Keegan, Ron “Chopper” Harris and Charlie George to name but a few.
The UK-based company, founded by designer and football fanatic James Garley, currently stocks t-shirts for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Spurs and a whole host of other teams. They plan to eventually stock thousands of t-shirts for every British side!
They use the very best brands for their t-shirts, with American Apparel, Fruit Of The Loom and Hanes all featuring amongst their impressive suppliers.
"I got the idea to set this site up as my sister’s boyfriend is a big Spurs fan and he said ‘I’d love a Steve Archibald t-shirt, that would be so great, a retro type t-shirt. You’d never find one though.’ So I made him one!" said James.
"He loved it so I thought…’Well if he loves this so much, surely other people would love retro t-shirts of their favourite players and for their favourite teams?’"
A particularly impressive feature of the site is the option to produce your own ‘Dream Team’ t-shirt. RetroFootballTShirts.co.uk allow you to simply e-mail your favourite XI players and they’ll produce your dream team on the t-shirt for you!
An enthusiastic James continued, "The ‘Dream Team’ t-shirts are something extra to the hundreds of t-shirts we currently stock. Every football fan has their own opinion and has a side that they think would be world-beaters. We’re giving them the chance to pick that side and then we’ll put the team on a t-shirt for them and let them show the world!
"There is no limit to the side that they can pick – it could be an England XI or a Macclesfield Town XI – we can cater for any team and any players!
"We don’t take responsibility if others disagree with their selections though!" joked James.
RetroFootballTShirts.co.uk also allow their customers to purchase personalised t-shirts. The one-off designs could be of a player not featured on the site that you’d love to wear or perhaps of you lifting the FA Cup for your favourite team!
James said, "The unique and one-off t-shirts are something else that I was adamant on offering. Every fan pictures themselves lifting the FA Cup for their side – or at least I know I did – so we’re giving them that opportunity. All they have to do is to send us a photograph and we’ll depict them lifting the Cup!
"Of course, this is only one possibility. The customer literally can ask us for anything and we’ll make it within 24 – 48 hours. We’ll never sell that t-shirt again, so they get a custom-made t-shirt that nobody else in the world will ever own!"
