Braces Are Back! Orient will be back in braces for the 2007/08 season after modelling their new kit on the iconic design of the late 1970s and early 1980s

The braces made a return two years ago as the O's change strip, but they will now be used at home as well following the response of thousands of O's fans to last season's Supporters' Survey.

Modelled here by new signing Stephen Purches, the new kit will go on sale in time for Orient's pre-season programme and a pre-ordering facility will be available in July

Orient's braces history dates back to the late 1970s , and many of the club's high points from the modern era were recorded in the kit.

The club signed a lucrative new deal with the leading shirt manufacturer in March and the new outfit features more maroon as the club moves back towards a more traditional appearance.

One of the most significant changes is that the club badge has been switched from the centre of the top to the left breast."To be working closely with a company of the calibre of Umbro is fantastic for the club," said Christophe."

"The new home kit looks great and I'm sure the fans will enjoy wearing it as well. Hopefully the quality of our performances on the pitch next season reflect the standard of the new strip."

Hearts were founded in 1874 and are reputedly named after a popular local dance hall, which in turn took its name from the novel The Heart of Midlothian by Sir Walter Scott.

The Heart of Midlothian is a heart-shaped mosaic built into the pavement on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Folklore says that spitting on the Heart will bring good luck.

The first Hearts Captain, Tom Purdie, stated that they may have played in 1873. They initially played at The Meadows, Powburn and Powderhall before moving to the Gorgie area in 1881. They moved to their current Tynecastle site in 1886.

The earliest mention of Heart of Midlothian in a sporting context is a report in the Scotsman newspaper from 20 July 1864 of the Scotsman vs Heart of Mid-Lothian at cricket.

It is not known if this was the same club who went on to form the football club.

The logo will appear on the Rams' new Adidas kit , which is due to go on sale in late July or early August. A circular surround replaces the previous yellow banner beneath the Ram, and the date the club was founded is also included.

Like most old football clubs, Derby County did not initially have any badge displayed on their shirts. Their first badge was introduced in 1924. The badge consisted of a circular shield spilt into three equally-sized sections, representing the club, its fans and the area, in three equally-sized sections, all containing items traditionally associated with the city of Derby: a Tudor rose and a crown in one section,

One of the most distinctive elements of FC Barcelona are the colours the players wear.

Scarlet and blue have featured on the club shirt for more than one hundred years and the club is widely known as the ‘Blaugrana’ in reference to the names of these colours in the Catalan language.

However, although the shirt has remained relatively constant in design over the years, the team shorts were white for the first ten years of club history, then switched to black, and were only blue from the 1920s onwards.

Not just why Barça originally chose to wear these shirt colours has been matter of much debate among club historians, and although several theories have been put forward, nobody has ever managed to provide substantial evidence that the colours were chosen for any symbolic reason.

It is that mentality of modesty and determination that characterises the club with a strong following in the rather thinly populated north of Holland. Heerenveen hails from Friesland, a rural province with 650.000 inhabitants and with a strong sense of history and tradition. Friesland has its own language (more Anglo-Saxon than the germanic Dutch) and culture and is often regarded as a rather proud 'nation within a nation'.

Heerenveen plays in an outfit that resembles the Frisian flag: blue and white vertical stripes with diagonal red 'hearts' that are called 'pompeblêden' in the indigenous language, the name for a certain type of water lily (Nympaea alba). At the start of every home game in the Dutch league the Frisian anthem is played, sounding almost as impressive as a sold-out Cardiff Arms Park before a Welsh national rugby game.
