birmingham city diadora kit deal

Birmingham City Football Club announced a new three-year Official Technical Kit Supplier agreement with Diadora which will see three new kits launched for the 2012/13 season.

Diadora, established in 1948, has become one of the most recognisable sporting brands in the world. JD Sports are exclusive retailers of Diadora in the UK.

Blues will become the latest side to be decked out in Diadora kit after the brand previously worked with the Scottish & Italian National Football teams.

Wayne Cowen, Blues' Head of Retail, said: "We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Diadora and are looking forward to seeing the three new kits being worn with pride.

"The kits are of the highest quality, as to be expected from a brand with Diadora's calibre. We feel this is a fantastic move for the club and are looking forward to working with such an established sporting brand. "

Guy Walker, JD Sports Head of Football, said: "Diadora is a fantastic brand and we are very pleased to have secured this partnership with Birmingham City FC.

"They have such a great and loyal fan base and I am looking forward to the forthcoming kit launches to hear the fans reaction and comments. We are delighted to have a club of this stature endorse the Diadora brand. The three bespoke kits have been designed exclusively for the club and we are sure they will prove to be very popular with both the players and fans."

The shirts will be available to pre-order soon from the club shop and online ahead of the full launch in September. The new shirts will be stocked in the Blues Superstore at St. Andrew's and local JD stores.

Supporters will get their first look at the new home kit ahead of Blues' forthcoming pre-season fixture against Borussia Mönchengladbach in Munich on Saturday 21st July.

Blues' partnership with previous kit suppliers Xtep has been ended by mutual consent.

I must say I was suprised they signed with Xtep in the first place. Something to do with Chinese connections at the club. I am guessing that there are major issues regarding those connections.<br />Looking forward to seeing the new design.
