While Feyenoord switches from Kappa to Puma, Dutch club FC Utrecht goes from Puma to Kappa and have signed a new kit deal with the Italian sport clothing company for next three seasons.
In the summer of 2009, all teams from FC Utrecht will get new kits. From that moment, the Kappa logo will be on the clothing of the players.
The Kappa brand is known for its modern designed shirts with a tight fit. This so-called 'combat'-line will Kappa also introduce at FC Utrecht.
It is also established that the red-white diagonal coloured design for the home shirt remains. After consultation with supporters two seasons ago the shirt was received with great enthusiasm and is in line with the city of Utrecht coat of arms.
The new FC Utrecht-shirt will have characteristics typical of Utrecht. For example, On the new 09/10 football shirts will be a picture of the Utrecht Cathedral Tower - The Dom
"we are very proud that the brand Kappa will commit themselves to our club," said chairman Jan Willem van Dop. "The cooperation is already very good because the clothing makers in Italy are already busy with the designs of next season.
