Hull city have announced a new four year kit deal with Umbro.

The new deal, which begins on 1st June 2014, will see the 90-year-old British brand supply Hull with on-pitch strips, training wear and replica items, from the 2014-15 season onward.

Announced by way of the KC Stadium's big screen 24 minutes into Hull City's defeat at home to Arsenal - a reference to Umbro's establishment in 1924 - the deal marks a reprise of the partnership which ran from 2007 to 2010, including the side's promotion to the Premier League and first season in that modern top flight division.

Ex-Hull City legend, the Brazilian Geovanni - scorer of the club’s first ever Premier League goal and a famous strike against Arsenal in 2008 - attended the game to celebrate the news.

Paul Nugent of Umbro also confirmed that Hull will be provided with "a set of unique kits".

Umbro are back. Would love Manchester United to wear Umbro again, but Nike won't give up that contract without a fight.

I don't think Umbro are big enough for United, but it is unusual for Nike to have two power houses in the same City, so maybe something will give. Normally the rivals are Adidas v Nike (ie Madrid, Milan, London (until Puma steped in),

Pleased for the Tigers; a move away from the Adidas templates to something bespoke from Umbro.
Impressive marketing launch too; still the fresh innovative company even after 90 years.

Very pleased with this news. Lots of talk this last week on 606 about this umbro deal and the kits bespoke nature.
Let's hope we get a decent sponsor for once, not a bookies or pawn shop.

just want to ask FSC what happened to freedom of opinion?
I responded with (admittedly) waspish wit to some obnoxious creep who called himself "umbro are shite" or some such and my comment has been removed! Come on guys,I thought we lived in a democracy, Ref Voltaire to understand my complaint.

Good news. At Stoke the fans have been massively disappointed with Adidas, especially knowing that we were just on an identikit template system along with Sunderland, Hull and West Brom. This season, we just seem to have swapped kits with Sunderland! I hope Umbro keep Hull's stripes.

Great news! Hopefully Umbro can continue adding to their stable of contacts to the stage where their past status is restored. Difficult, but who knows? From little things, big things grow...

Does anyone know if the Umbro logo will feature on the playing kits just as the double-diamond, without the ‘Umbro’ wording?

Btw, just wait a few weeks and you' ll see that also the "others" will go all "bespoke"... And it will be the millionth time Umbro is imitated in their style or approach by the other brands (and bespoke kits are something Umbro never forgot and always applied without interruption).
It is surprising that the clubs have started realising the poorness of the ongoing system and have complained. It' s a good sign.
Point is, certain brands will keep producing **** nevertheless, so it will take just one little step further to have people realise what real quality is and push the massproducers back where they came from. Let' s hope..
