The Polish Football Association (PZPN) agreed a six-year kit deal with Nike to follow up puma as their technical sponsor.

All Poland’s national teams are going to play in Nike kits and additionally the association can count on financial support from Nike.

“The analysis of the offers was carried out by a special commission which also conducted talks with contractors. It turned out that in many aspects Nike’s offer was better, but the choice of technical sponsor was carried out in a vote. The decision was not unanimous,” revealed vice-president of PZPN Rudolf Bugdol.

The contract still needs to be signed. “We are preparing a letter of intent based on the talks with Nike so far, and the contract will be signed after all details are set,” Bugdol added.

The only opponent of Nike in competition for the new contract with the Polish Football Association was Puma, who supplied the Polish footballers with equipment for eight years. Poland’s  contract with Puma expires at the end of 2008.

I\'d stick with PUMA but you can bet your life that NIKE will throw more money at it and then produce a generic kit . It would be nice if they produced something spectacular !

Changing from Puma to Nike is like changing apple to orange. Nothing special. If Poland dare to be different, they should try smaller company yet creative like Joma, Le Coq Sportiv or Do You Football.

Ah, but Puma kits are more generic than Nike, if there can be such a thing!

The whole point of going with a brand..any brand, is that they can do something different for your team not just add your colours to a design they already have. Virtually all of the big manufacturers do that which is a shame . Manufacturers should make more effort with International kits particularly for larger nations who will obviously sell more shirts. PUMA , ADIDAS , NIKE are the worst offenders...could it be that it is all made in the far east in large batches.??....surely not . They would n\'t look to profiteeer from football supporters would they???

I think it has more to do with poland hosting Euro 2012.. adidas and nike did a good job for euro 2008 with a lot of different designs for the big national teams, although the nike fabric looks cheap when you see it in person..<br />\'<br />Puma missed the boat on this one with their kits all looking the same.
