Nottingham Forest Announce Adidas Kit Deal

Nottingham Forest have announced adidas as their official technical kit partner from the 2013-14 season.

The three-year deal brings the club and brand together after 22 years and will invoke fond memories of The Reds’ epic achievements in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

The new range of adidas training wear will be worn by the players in pre-season and will be available to purchase in store or online before the season opener against Huddersfield Town.

Reds chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi said: “We are delighted to be joining up with adidas, the kit wear provider that supported Forest during the club’s most successful period.

“We hope that the renewal of this partnership represents a further sign of the good times returning to The City Ground.”

adidas senior manager Steve Holland said: “We are really pleased to have Nottingham Forest on board.  There is a real history between the club and the brand but we are also excited by the plans Forest have demonstrated to us with regards to moving forward.

“We are delighted to be a part of what promises to be some exciting times ahead for Forest supporters.”

The deal was brokered by The Reds’ retail partner Kitbag as part of the wide-ranging retail agreement between them and the club.

Kitbag commercial director Ed Boardman added: “We’re delighted to have adidas on board for the next three years.

“There is a real history between adidas and Forest and we are proud to have helped bring the two together.”

Far too much Adidas nowadays. Cookie cutter templates, little variation, even with some of the 'bigger' teams. Umbro's Forest kits were sublime. Won't be a whole lot different than Boro' or Bristol or Swindon now.

Umbro haven't been totally killed off yet - they're supplying Stockport County in the Conference North this forthcoming season so there is some hope for all you fans of the double diamond logo! It'll be interesting to see what the Stockport kits look like when they're revealed this weekend...

Umbro to me have been a really cheap brand. I have had some umbro man city shirts not the best. I have a few adidas shirts of Ac Milan and Gothenburg. It was the end of the line for Umbro, Nike bough the company and then sold it off.Must have been rather tough times for Umbro. Adidas have a much greater global empire. Not all the templates used are bad. Brentford Stoke Sunderland and Southampton have the same colours with the white and red stripes. Maybe Sheffield United are to follow. Similar designs all around.

Nike have screwed themselves in the sale of umbro, every team bar city and blackburn have gone to adidas, they've handed their biggest rivals more leverage in becoming the worlds top brand! all they did was to use umbro to get to the fa/england contract. I hope umbro break free from the iconix label as I can't see them doing much for the brand apart from closing the chesire buisness and taking it back to new york with them

I can only hope that this is not the same template used for Stoke away and WBA away etc. If Adidas had done even a shred of market research they would know that almost every fan wants a remake of the 70s 80s kits, that would boost their reputation and shirt sales 10 fold. Unfortunately I imagine they won't...

Umbro kits last year were the best in the champ, sad to see them go

Forest astonished us when like rocket overflew from second division to premier league champions and moreover 2 consecutive European champions titles. Premier league without Forest is like motor racing without Honda.
So adidas you should take great responsibility and create for club unique kit and revival Forest with it. But kit must be something special not like Boro's,Bristol's or Swindon's are. Therefore I offer you take 3 wavy strips from club's logo and run down on the left and right shoulders. Also use wavy strips on the shorts too. We achieve 2 results maintain adidas feature and create special Forest kit.

Adidas I am sure will make the shirts as individual as possible.
It is a shame to see Umbro leave the City Ground as most of the kits have been superb even the away shirt England never had last season.
Funny to see Man City knocking out their new Nike shirt at £55; nice to see the takeover from Umbro is motivated by greed.

Hope they bring back the yellow/blue from the 70's/80's for the away. Shame adidas are bringing out uninspiring templates as opposed the more stylish ones in the mid 90's( Argentina, Spain and Rangers to name a few)

Dear Harry Bush if tomorrow somebody will rename premier league name on super league. Will it means Manchester united
is not 20 times England champion. For me first division or premier league is same great championship.Nottingham forest
has won this title only once and in next season they bought for
1 million pounds T. Francis First time in English clubs history
team spent such money for player. NF is unique in many case
and their kit, players, managers and funs must be unique too.

Another great team stolen by Nike. I had the black and green away and its one of the best tops i've owned.
Adidas in my opinion are not the shirt manufacturer they once were , sure Bayern and Chelsea get good kits but Lower league and bottom half Premiership teams get crappy templates. The adidas Forest kits of the 80's were nice but I doubt they will recapture that in their new kits.

Bring back Umbro and the old Adidas trefoil logo!!!!!!!!!!!
