Luxembourg 1977 player shirt by Adidas believed to have been match worn by Barthel in the 1978 World Cup Qualification Group 2 match against England played at Stade Municipal, Luxembourg City on the 12th October '77.
Barthel played the full match as the minnows were beaten 2-0 by England who found the net through Ray Kennedy and Paul Mariner.
It was a subdued affair though with the Three Lions almost certain to miss out on a place in Argentina to Italy while Luxembourg were rooted to the foot of the table and went on to lose all six of their matches conceding 22 goals. Barthel represented his country only 3 times in his career but he picked a good time to do so wearing this superb vintage design kit.
Correct player size print professionally heat pressed, embroidered crest is machine stitched and light transfer Adidas trefoil, made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester in West Germany, swapped with an England player and comes from their collection - a signed letter verifying this can be provided.
