Up for auction : match worn england 1982 world cup shirt
The seller added the following : up for auction is this extremely rare match worn/player prepared england 1982 world cup shirt made by Admiral . this shirt has the number 8 on the back and was the shirt worn by trevor francis (of man city fame). the label says 38/40 which is a mens medium. this shirt is a 100 hundred percent original from 1982 and not a new re-issue.
This can be shown by the fully sewn stitched and embroidered 3 lions england badge and admiral logo to the front of the shirt and the seperate stitched line between the main white shirt body and where the blue and red bands begin at the front next to the v neck.
Also the number 8 is professionally stitched into the shirt and not printed. unfortunately there is no certificate of authenticity in fact no one in my family knows exactly how we came to own it, but my late uncle lived in manchester and was a die hard man city fan and i am guessing that it belonged to him.
For a shirt that is 25 years old it is in very good condition with just a couple of slight snags to the front and a smallish yellow stain on the back.. this shirt has been voted the greatest england shirt of all time and i fully agree but circumstances are forcing me to sell this family heirloom. So get bidding and you could be the envy of all your friends and be wearing it for the forth coming england internationals...
