Benfica 1991-92 player shirt by Hummel believed to have been match worn by Rui Costa in the European Cup Third Round Group B match aganst Dynamo Kiev played at Estádio da Luz on the 1st April 1992.

The 19 year old Rui Costa came off the bench in the 75th minute and showed his world class talent within minutes to play a gorgeous through ball that set up Sergei Yuran to make it 5-0 and put the icing on a superb night for Benfica.

Brito and Yuran both bagged a brace while Isaías got the other in a rampant and ruthless display from the Águias. The shirt was given to one of the Dutch match officials after the game as a gift. The result meant that the side would travel to the Nou Camp for the final group match still with a hope of making the Final. This was Rui Costa's debut season after joining the club from Fafe and the midfield wonderkid made 32 appearances scoring 4 goals in total. Unfortunately Sven-Göran Eriksson's men would lose out to Barca but Rui Costa would go on to lift the trophy in the future with AC Milan and build a reputation for himself as one of the greatest playmakers of his generation.

Correct player size print professionally heat pressed, embroidered Liga shield machine stitched to sleeve, small size flock Fnac sponsor to meet UEFA regulations, given to a match official as a gift and comes from their personal collection - a signed letter verifying this can be provided.

This shirt was not worn by Rui Costa. I have proved based on facts from game images. I shared this info with classicfootballsgirts but they decided to ignore it. Sorry but facts are facts. I was interested in purchasing this until my research led to the conclusion.
