Errea make great kits in my view. the kits for crystal palace and Burnley this season have been the best in that division, and the kit for Middlesbrough was beautiful.

Pretty dull interview I thought. I wanted to hear about the things they take into cnsideration when designing strips, but all I heard was how their design staff went to the Italian College of Art, a bit about some clubs offering votes to fans, and some clubs having a local feel for their community - nothing about the design process itself. Particularly important here because Errea\'s early strips for Middlesbrough were fresh and exciting, but they haven\'t put out a decent one in years. They\'ve got no real brand identity like Umbro\'s diamonds or adidas\'s three stripes - which isn\'t necessarily a bad thing, except when you look at the trim on the current Crystal Palace kit. Boro fans might feel a bit as if they\'re just one of the pack next year when adidas take over, but the strip will surely be better than the mix and match assymetrical unimaginative designs that Errea have punted out the last few years. Pity really, like I say Errea\'s early Boro strips - 1994 to 2000 say - were excellent.

Errea are very underrated. Definitely one of the top football kit manufacturers.

I agree and to be able to manufacture it in Europe at their own factory unlike everyone else who obviously uses SE Asian subcontractors is very impressive.

When they made the Hearts kit it was horrible :Pinch:

I\'m built like an underweight racing snake and even the bigger sizes were skin tight on me. The badge and sponsor were cheapily (if thats a word) applied and it looked like a fake effort even though it was from the club shop. I sent it back.

Maybe they have improved over the years and agree boro design is nice and simple - love it. Simple colours, simple trim. I think thats the key to a nice shirt - no pointless lines and trim, even the Umbro diamonds annoy me - at least the adidas strips usually go down the sleeves where they look in place. But boro\'s Errea shirt is neat, tidy and appealing.

I think that the interview is quite interesting, but agree that given it is on Design Football there could have been a more detailed discussion about the design process..Maybe Jay could do a follow up.
I like the errea stuff, they are prepared to try new things and promote new ideas and have not fallen into a rut like many of the bigger names, or have become sheep like some of the smaller ones.

I think big Jim is right . To have an interview with one of the most innovative and high quality football kit manufacturers and not have enough detail about the design process does seem strange. But like Big Jim says I think Errea do excellent work and beig a Burnely fan I am chuffed with the designs we have had over the years. In fact the Burnley kit of 2007 won the Football League kit of the year. I \'m looking forward to this years design too. Errea are fine by me !

Very Interesting.....I never new that Errea were the only European Sportswear Company to actually manufacture their own kit. Thats pretty impressive and shame on the big boys like Adidas and Puma who are the being made in China. I guess thats why all there kits look the same. Anyone know where I can get errea kit from I\'d like to see this nanotechnology.

Its about time that these smaller companies got more press ...well done jay for promoting Errea. I am sick of boring designs from Nike Adidas and Puma

I thought that was a fairly interesting interview.Especially the nano-tech bit.
Wet and windy Boro nights and the rain just runs of the shirt, great stuff.I think the other kit manufactuers will want to do stuff like that.
I do like the current Palace kit with Errea trim down the sleeve.Shame for Palace that they are switching to nike.Crystal Palace will end up being a cheap version of Barca(but only in strip not playing style)!!!
