Lilywhite & Blue

No other club in the world has a football shirt history as colourful as Tottenham Hotspur. Lilywhite & Blue is a visual history of every glorious shirt design since the team was founded.

For this unique limited edition book, memorabilia collectors have opened the doors to their private collections, to bring together some of the rarest match-worn Spurs shirts of all time: Klinsmann’s famous debut shirt; Cup Final kits from as far back as 1962, muddy match strips from every Premiership season, and the shirts that even Spurs don’t have in their archives.

Nobby Stiles auction

Nobby Stiles is selling a collection of memorabilia from a glittering football career - including the blue Manchester United shirt worn by him in the 1968 European Cup final against Benfica

The 45 lots are expected to reach hundreds of thousands of pounds when they go under the hammer at Convery Auctions later this year.

Stiles, 68, who suffered a stroke in June, said: "It was always my intention to leave the entire collection to my children. But I have three sons - how do you fairly divide up this sort of collection between them? They have each selected some pieces they would like to keep for themselves."

The tough-tackling Manchester United midfielder won two league titles and a European Cup during an 11-year career with the Old Trafford club.

ALAN ROUGH shirt collection

Scotland Legend Alan Rough's collection of football shirts sold for £22,367 last week - more than double the expected amount.

All 42 items at the auction went for more than their top estimate as collectors from around the world bid.

The jersey England No1 Ray Clemence wore when he was nutmegged by Kenny Dalglish in 1976 sold for £980.

But it was a shirt worn by ex-Scotland skipper Billy Bremner which raked in the most - £1700.

Times online reports that property developer Andrew Leslau is selling the iconic red No 10 worn by Hurst when he scored his winning hat-trick and is hoping it will attract wealthy fans swept up by World Cup fever

Sir Geoff sold the shirt in June 2000 in an auction at Christie's to a private collector for £91,750. It was then sold to an unnamed fan of West Ham. But just ten years later, the prized item has a whopping £2.3million price tag - more than 25 times the amount he sold it for.

In 2008 Leslau, 52, from Milton Common, Oxfordshire, bought it on behalf of foreign investors for an undisclosed sum, but took out insurance on the item for £1m.

A Century of Claret and Blue: A Special Exhibition

Burnley Football Club is gearing up for special VIP launch of the new replica kit to celebrate 100 years of Claret and Blue.

A century ago, the club took the historic decision to change the club colours to those now known and recognised worldwide.

And as we prepare to unveil the new home kit to be worn in the 2010/11 campaign, the club is delighted and proud to announce a unique exhibition.

For the first time, all 34 claret and blue shirts worn by Burnley Football Club over the past 100 years will be housed in one exhibition, open to the general public.

Naturally, the star of the show will be the new Puma-branded home shirt, bearing the club's new sponsors, Fun88 com.

And for one month, commencing Saturday, April 3, this exhibition is the ONLY place supporters will be able to see the centenary shirt in all its claret and blue glory!
