Puma King XL

Footy-boots.com unveiled the new Puma King XL, the relaunched football boot from Puma celebrates 40 years of existence. The Puma King XL (XL stands for Roman numeral "40") football boot stands for quality, heritage and tradition. The newest edition includes classic lines and traditional styling, but with updated materials, enhanced features and new design details.

The Puma King celebrates its 40th birthday this year. First introduced in 1968 as the "King Eusébio" to honour Portugal’s legendary Mozambican-born football star Eusébio da Silva Ferreira who was the top scorer at the 1996 World Cup. Over the years, the King became a legend and was worn by legends. The world’s greatest football stars wore the King including Eusébio, Brazil’s Pele, Argentina’s Maradona and Dutch maestro Johan Cruyff. This month the Puma King will be re-launched worldwide with a limited edition collection to celebrate its 40th birthday and will be worn on-field at Euro 2008 by Italy’s Massimo Oddo and Germany’s Thomas Hitzlsperger. This is the new Nike PreCool Vest; not your average sports equipment, but it's very cool..

This is the new Nike PreCool Vest; not your average sports equipment, but it's very cool..A 1960s mini dress and medical packaging were the inspiration when it came to redesigning Nike's original PreCool Vest. First introduced at the Olympics in Athens, Nike wanted to make it lighter, more flexible, better fitting and refillable a tall order for a piece of equipment athletes have been praising since Athens.

The vest is designed to cool the body’s core temperature. Since 25% of our body’s total energy goes into moving muscle and 75% into regulating heat, reducing an athlete’s core temperature before the marathon or a field hockey match means more energy for the competition itself. Indeed, with core cooling, athletes can often last 21% longer. Given Beijing’s hot and humid conditions, the PreCool Vest is a key piece of equipment that can help provide the advantage an athlete needs.

adidas and UEFA presented the adidas “EUROPASS gloria”,

In the Oval Hall of Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier cultural complex, adidas and UEFA presented the adidas "EUROPASS gloria", the official ball for the Final of UEFA EURO 2008™. Herbert Hainer (adidas AG Chairman and CEO) presented the silver ball with black dots to UEFA President Michel Platini. The "EUROPASS gloria" was created specifically for the most important match of the UEFA European Football Championship 2008™ and will only be used for the Final of UEFA EURO 2008™, which takes place in Vienna on 29 June 2008.

Based on the Henri Delaunay Trophy, the "EUROPASS gloria" shimmers silver and, like the "EUROPASS", has twelve black dots, combining modernity with tradition. The suffix "gloria" in the ball’s name stands for the fame and glory that will be enjoyed by the winner of UEFA EURO 2008™. The name "EUROPASS" symbolizes the common "EURO" pass between the two host countries of Austria and Switzerland. It also represents every pass the players will make on the pitch during UEFA EURO 2008™. Last but not least, it signifies the cooperation among all the fans who will make their way to Switzerland and Austria for the final competition.

 new Adidas Predator PowerSwerve colourway

Footy-Boots.com have unveiled a new Adidas Predator PowerSwerve tunit colourway, made especially for adidas sponsored players in Austria and Switzerland at Euro 2008.

The new football boot features Predator SMART foam on the strike zone to give extra power, swerve and control - in rigorous testing the boot was found to give 3% more force and 8% more swerve than its predecessor. The foam also adapts and changes to suit the way you kick the ball so you get maximum velocity, or shock adsorption, depending on your needs. The new dynamic PowerPulse insole also now features 40g of ‘Tungsten’ powder - which shifts and spreads weight in the sole to where you need it, behind the exact place of impact with the ball to get total weight transfer.

Nike Virtual Park - glow in the dark spray paint

Unless you have easy access to stadium lighting, playing a quick game after dark can be nearly impossible. Well now designer Pierre Haulot has teamed with Nike to create Virtual Park, a glow in the dark spray paint used to create goals, boundaries, a glowing ball and whatever else you need to keep the games going at night.

The idea is to consider this parameter not as a handicap but as a way to value the other senses, the imaginary and the imagination. The paint even disappears after two hours, and there will be no trace. The game is over. Have no limit, play anywhere!
