Nike T90 Tracer Elite Series

To accompany their Elite Series football boots Nike have launched this Nike T90 Tracer Elite Series match ball which is available Here.

It will only be produced with high-visibility neon trim – which, according to Nike’s Labs, makes the ball easier to track during it’s flight – hence the name ‘Tracer‘.

Other features include the micro-textured casing on the ball. This equalises airflow all around the ball when it’s in flight and improves control when it’s on the ground.

Product Specification

•Micro-textured casing imporves ball control by equalising airflow over the surface
•Depth enhanced performance graphic is designed to catch the peripheral vision and engage the central vision quickly
•Geometric precision distributes pressure evenly across panels and around the ball for a consistent, accurate and powerful strike wherever it's hit
•Perfect sphericity allows the ball to fly faster, farther and more

Black balls are rubbish cos you can't see them as well. They absorb too much light, making the rest of the so called hi-vis technology irrelevant.

I like how Peter K.'s comment put it, well said. Along with much of the pseudo-technology the creative heads at Nike...erm, create, they're also quite good at pairing this with conjured up terms: "perfect sphericity"
