In June 2008, football will move to the center of public interest for three weeks -- during EURO 2008. And as a matter of course, the creative crowd also has a lot to contribute.
Superated, a new Viennese fashion label, which already made waves with its T-shirt installation "slow" in Barcelona, has now tackled the subjects of football and design, resulting in its collection SportARt; yet another sign of the creative potential Vienna has to offer.
The two creative minds of the label, Peter Holzinger (design) and Andreas Pasqualini (art), have shown a lively interest in the signs, symbols, and rituals of football: the pentagon, the struggle, the effort, the team, and Vienna as a venue form the basis of their meditations.
The result is a 22-part collection of team jerseys made created from various materials and using a variety of techniques. Aesthetic, clear, unobtrusive but sensuous design creates the foundation of superated’s designs. The emphasis is on simple forms, classic workmanship and elegant materials.
