Universitario de Deportes, based in the capital city of Lima, have stitched a special crest onto the inside of their new shirt, so that it will be close to the heart of both players and fans that wear it and show their support around the world.

The special internal crest has been created by Peruvian artist and Universitario fan Cherman, inspired by one of the team’s nicknames, ‘Garra Crema’ – the Cream Claws. While this is a literal translation of the team’s colours, ‘garra’ is also considered to be a local word for resilliance and strength, and is seen by the Universitario fans as a key characteristic of the team.

Jamaica secured a new deal with Italian kit sponsor Kappa after nearly a year of negotiations and carefully "working out the details".

Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president Captain Horace Burrell was in the Italian city of Turin to ink the US$2-million deal, which will span three years.

Without a deal with Italy's largest sports manufacturer since 2010, Burrell was delighted with the new development and said it was timely as the Reggae Boyz commence their World Cup qualifying campaign in a home meeting with Guatemala on June 8.

The Chicago Fire 2012 home shirt brings more blue into the kit than previous editions.  For the first time the traditional contrast panel across the chest is in Fire Blue. It extends across the sides and into the sleeves allowing for the ClimaCool mesh to be placed for ventilation and moisture management.  Formotion technology cut lines allow the wearer freedom to move without the jersey being constricting. A traditional collar returns to the kit for the first time since the club’s 1998-99 seasons.

The open neck placket incorporates the traditional white that has been part of the Fire home kit since their inception in 1998.  White adidas 3-Stripes, adidas corporate logo, back collar and on the sleeves continue the use of white on the primary kit.

Inspired by the Flag of Chicago, the Chicago Fire 2012 away kit is blue with horizontal lines that are created by using the stripes and four stars from the civic flag representing Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 and the Century of Progress Exposition of 1933. 

The two stripes surrounding the four stars are created using a special ink to be raised with the red stars and light blue bar flat on the jersey. The back neck tape follows the Flag of Chicago by using the two light blue stripes and the four six-pointed stars in red.
