I see on the Tartan Army website they have given a description as to what they believe the Scotland shirt will be like. Interestingly they say that the NEW shirt will be replaced in August 2010 by a brand new completely original and unique Adidas shirt??? Am I reading this wrong or does this mean that the shirt that will be worn against the Czech Republic on the 3rd of March will only be a temporary design?

that is true, they will have a temporary shirt from now to august 2011. they will then get a brand new shirt that is hopefully not a template. this is like the situation with poland and nike last year.

The TAMB site says August 2010 but you have said August 2011. Which date is correct?

Here is a mock up I found that seems to be accurate based on all the information I have read above. If so, we should be in for a superb looking kit! I love the Lion Rampant in the background!

This is quite interesting. Surely if "2010" is correct then the SFA wouldn't put on sale a shirt in July that's going to be replaced the next month?

This shirt looks ok but surely there's too much detail for a temporary shirt. The background is entirely unnecessary for a shirt that's unlikely to ever be retailed.

Aha. Checked TAB and this question was asked. Apparently they'll have the pictured shirt until August 2011.

If we are going off the information given above then, this is unlikely as the new Scotland kit as it isn't using a pre-existing adidas template.

I'm expecting the first kit (the temp one) to have the same template as Nigeria, then the properly designed one to have something a bit more unique.

(Source) THE much anticipated launch of the new adidas Scotland strip will take place on the morning of March 1st at Hampden Park and you can see it here first.

The A squad will wear the strip for the first time in the momentous challenge match against the Czech Republic on March 3rd which also marks Craig Levein's first game in charge.

The strip will not go to public sale until summer but there will be an opportunity soon to register for merchandise updates and information on how to pre-order your kit.

Contrary to media reports today, the Tartan Army have not been given a sneak preview of the new Scotland kit.

There have been numerous rogue versions posted on various websites in the past few months and the latest one is also a fake.

The genuine article will be revealed on March 1 but at least this latest mock-up posted on the internet shows that our new kit deal with adidas has generated plenty of excitement and anticipation among the fans.
