Has anyone any info about the new Wales kit? I’ve heard its going to be made by Umbro, but this is probably an optimistic rumour!

The dragonsoccer website states that the new kit will be worn in next week's friendly so not long to wait to see it.

The FAW are only a few years into a six year deal with JJB so the kit will be one of their brands. So it will probably be Champion again if not Patrick or JJB.

JJB also have a sponsorship deal with Northern Ireland and their kit is provided by Umbro. That's my hope anyway, as while it was good to see a decent range of merchandise produced for the first time in years, the actual kits themselves were a bit shit. Something like the new Wrexham strip would be good, maybe with one of the stripes being green like the lotto strip from the 90s.

I think Northern Ireland's deal with JJB is different. JJB is the official retail partner and Irish Cup Sponsor while Umbro is the kit and ball supplier.

With Wales JJB are the official retailer and kit supplier (Mitre supply the balls).
So JJB will do the kit.

I know what you mean about the kit but JJB have been brilliant with the pricing and the range of products. Before they came along it was a struggle to find any Wales merchandise. It's quite common now to see kids wearing Wales shirts!

I agree with the merchandise, the range was much improved and I brought a whole bunch of it! Hopefully we'll get a decent sponsor to replace Nationwide as their sticker like logo ruined the majority of it! Hopefully the new strip will see a whole new range of clothing and also a restarted website selling it too.

I do like the fact that our kit is unique and not an adidas/nike template but I think umbro with their tailored range would be spot on for us.

Is very sad that FAW dont ship overseas. Im from Canada so if you guys can get one for me. i can exchange. I have more than 120 jerseys at home. advise me when you have the new wales shirt.

Well the Umbro rumour was right and I was wrong!! JJB must have done a deal with Umbro! I'm happy it's Umbro their recent shirts have been good.

It's hard to really judge from the photo but I do prefer Wales shirts to have a simple design and be all red like this rather than too cluttered.

When was the last time Wales had an Umbro shirt? I remember a green shirt mid nineties and I remember they were with Lotto late nineities before they went to Kappa. Was it 95-96?

The last home one was the one with the green collar and green pinstripes, bloody horrible it was! I have the away shirt which was a dark turquoise with a weird white/red flash across the front, brought in the last couple of years as I was only 11 when it came out originally!
