Coritiba Kit competition - rules and discussion
the brief is to design three kits for the Coritiba football club of Parana state, Brazil - the Coxa Branca
there are three categories -
1st, 2nd and 3rd - Best 1st kit
1st, 2nd and 3rd - Best 2nd kit
1st, 2nd and 3rd - Best 3rd kit
1st kit - white shirt, Black shorts, White socks would be expected, but the layout of the two green stripes can be placed in any way on the shirt, though diagonal is the layout for most of the history of Coritiba.
2nd kit - Coritiba have had green and white striped kits, green and white hooped kits, and all green away shirts.
3rd kit - Coritiba have played in mostly black, and on occasion yellow third kits.
here are the rules
1 - no red on the kit - not on the shirt, not on the sponsors, not anywhere (Colours of City rivals Atletico Paranaense)
2 - display the Home, away and third separately, as the judging of the competition will be for three categories.
For the kits, explanation of features (influences, the styling and the shade of green used on the kit, the decision on the styling for the second kit (Hoops, all green, stripes...), and the reason of sponsor placement) would be wise, and explanations could make all the difference for the judging. please state whether the shirt is the 1st, second or the third kit in the title, to minimise confusion. Bespoke designs will be looked upon more favourably than bog standard football manager templates, and bespoke designs will have more chance of winning.
Showing the whole kit (front and back view of shirt, front and side/back view of shorts, the socks) is recommended, as judging is for the whole kit. Showing the whole kit in the design will mean a better chance of winning.
Any kit manufacturer can be used. In recent seasons, Diadora, now lotto have been the kit makers, and in the 80s, adidas manufactured the kits. Umbro and Penalty have also been the kit makers in the past.
Sponsors can be anything, the current main is Banco BMG, and before that BemaTECH, previous sponsors have included Wolkswagen, Coca Cola and Radial. There is no limit on the amount of sponsors on the kit, nor the placement on the kit (sleeves, shorts, front, back)
Im allowing a lot of freedom in terms of sponsors, kit making and the style of the shirts.
The nature of the 1st and 2nd kits for Coritiba means that reversing the colours for the home and away shirts will not work, so different designs for both the home and away will be expected.
No limits on the amount of kits entered in the competition by any one person(within reason - no spamming)
For each Designer, one kit for each of the categories will be considered by the judges, meaning that nobody will win the 1st, 2nd and third kit for one Category - three different designers for each category in the final standings, and no clean sweep by any one designer.
The judgement will consider quality of design, sponsor placement and names and numbers on shirts, of which the design will be the most important.
Judgement will be made for the competition by the people at FSC, Design football and as yet unconfirmed Brazilian fans of the Coxa Branca.
Closing date for the competition will be May 1st, 12.00PM GMT
Get desiging and good luck!
