I'm launching a new amateur football club in York next season (a well run and ambitious club at that, we will be looking to take the club into the semi-professional ranks as soon as we possibly can and we'll have all the trimmings you would expect of a well run club such as a well designed and regularly updated website and we'll be producing match programmes).
The club will be called Rawcliffe Rovers. As yet we don't have a badge, club colours or a kit. We will be getting a home and away kit (and maybe a third) made by Birmingham kit manufacturer Joshila (
football.joshila.co.uk/article.php?sid=37&aid=101) now I know Joshila are a tiny little lit company and not at all well renowned, however they do possess one advantage and that is that they will produce any kit design we want in any colours we want so they can make us a completely tailored kit (which no other kit manufacturer in the UK would do).
I've long admired the work of people who post on this forum so felt it would be a great opportunity to open the floor to the talented designers out there to design us a club badge and kit (home and away and we will get a third made if there are so many good designs). We are an amateur club so can't offer much as a prize but will offer the following:
1. Obviously the winning designs will be made into our kits and the winning designer(s) will receive a finished made kit that they have designed.
2. We'll announce the story on the club website when that's up and running and give you credit.
3. We'll also send you some match programmes which will contain photos of the kit in action.
It's not much I know but it's a great opportunity to see your designs finally made.
I have no specific brief for either the badge or kits. I will say that the shirt sponsor is magma (in lower case helvetica font) and please include the Joshila logo on the breast as that will be on the final kit. I'd also quite like the clubs website -
www.rawclifferovers.com - on the back of the shirt under the number. If you want me to give you some kind of brief then contact me at
featherofforgiveness@yahoo.co.uk and I'll try my best to answer some questions. Only thing I will say is I love hooped socks and am a big fan of yellows and greens and am not adverse to brown!
