I just saw the new Umbro logo tweak and it reminded me of something that's been bugging me for a while...when all other well recognised kit manufacturers have dropped the name from their logo, why do Adidas still use their name in their Adidas Equipment logo? Surely the 3 stripe triangle is recognisable enough on its own? Any thoughts?

I think that their logo without the word looks kinda odd. I quite like it as it is now. Like nike's logo hasn't been tweaked much since it was created. The word itself is sometimes used as part of their product design... To me I think only companies that kinda lacked publicity need to change/update their logo, otherwise they might just tweak it slightly to make it more modern, if ever (the adidas logo is already modern, if you want retro see their originals brand).

the companies that lacks publicity which changed their logos, for example long time ago (about 10 years ago) Mazda changed it logo quite a few times and Fiat changed its logo a few years ago too.

It's probably the same why Ford would still keep the classic handwriting word in the blue oval. So I really like the current adidas logo and their 3 stripes.

In due course there can be some things improve but there are things which it is not necessary to touch.
I wish to tell that in case of with adidas it was not necessary to change logo to the Frenchmen at all.
With it Tapi has acted not it is correct.

Old classical adidas logo is better.
