help identifying Umbro England shirt approx 84-85? 1 Year ago	Karma: 0
Stumbled upon and bought what I'm guessing is a pre World Cup '86 Umbro shirt, however, I can't explain the red collar, sleeves and piping on the shoulders. I don't recall this as a kit when I was a young lad, but perhaps someone can fill me in on what I've found here? Any ideas or details further?

Hi, This was never a template / colour-scheme worn by England BUT the gold collar label was used by Umbro to denote a prototype or a sample design. What you may possibly have is a one-off sample that could well have been one of a number of alternatives presented to the FA for them to choose from. Jon
