
New Malmö FF Home Jersey 09 - New Sky Blue Colour & Charity sponsorship
For the first time a swedish football club will use charity sponsors, where the paying companies accept that the jerseys don't show their logos. Malmö FF have started this cooperation with Star for Life, a HIV/AIDS-project in South Africa. The charity will be able to get 2 million SEK/year and will be paid for by approximately 10 companies. The first company to be announced is tthe food store chain ICA.
Chairman of the official supporter club, Tony Ernst, says he is proud to be a Malmö supporter when the club assumes social responsability in the midst of the financial meltdown. Besides that, he adds, the jersey is stunning!
The sponsors that do show on the jersey are due to obligations with running contracts and that in the future the jersey will be more clean. Also, there has been a shift in color. The design team has looked at an old jersey from the 1930´s to find a more saturated nuance, making the sky blue
