Fans on Motherwell's unofficial website
www.steelmenonline.co.uk have reported problems regarding the new Canterbury replica kit.
The main issues are:
1. The teams sponsors logo (JAXX) is peeling off.
2. Pulls and catches are appearing on the shirts after only one wash.
3. The tops main amber colour appears to be a different shade on the shorts and socks.
4. The overall quality of the shirt material is poor.
An employee of PSL (Provan Sports Limited) is quoted as saying:
"There does seem to be an issue with the JAXX logo's at the factory. It seems they haven't been printed on properly, any tops with this issue bring them in and we will re-press it there and then. We had a couple in last week and that did the trick. Don't know whether they haven't been pressed for long enough, or at high enough temperature but it's very frustrating.
As for the pulls on the shirt, I don't know what's going on there. We've used the same material with many of our rugby clubs and haven't had issue. Any suggestion that the shirt is made "on the cheap" is just plain wrong however."
I hope Motherwell F.C., PSL and Canterbury sort out these problems quickly as the quality reputation of the New Zealand based sportswear company has taken a knock.
Nobody expects the replica kit to be of the same standard as the matchworn kit but at £45 a shirt you should be able to at least wash it.
