Real or fake Liverpool Formotion shirt 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: -3
Hi all, I recently bought a 08/09 Liverpool 3rd Away Formotion, when it arrived I took a close look and there are differences to my 100% authentic one

I bought it on eBay from this seller:
myworld.ebay.com/house-of-shirts/

Differences:
1 - the Carlsberg logo on the suspicious shirt is about 1 cm shorter than the one on the real shirt, I know that the sponsor logo have 2 sizes for the Premiere League and Champions League, but the difference I'm talking about is 1 cm, so definitely not the difference between the big EPL sponsor and small UCL sponsor

2 - the position of the "formotion" logo is also different, the suspicious one is right next to the edge where the real one keeps a distance to the edge

3 - the adidas logo and size tag are on a weird angle, this could be just an imperfection but I just though I'd point it out

So what are your views on this?
Thanks

Hi,

I have no idea if your second shirt is real but I have spotted another difference between your two shirts.

Check the symbol (is this a leaf?) over the Carlsberg logo. It is not in the same place in both shirts. I don't know if this is of any help but I mention it 'cos I can see it...

Yeah the second one the "leaf" is closer to the Carlsberg, if it is real shouldn't they naturally be the same?

Also the printed-on adidas logo, 3 stripes and the sponsor logo feels very rough but my real one feels very smooth

Those photos aren't much of an indication--I have used that seller on Ebay multiple times and the merchandise is A1 quality. The problem is that the jerseys can be made in many countries, and the quality actually differs occasionally between them.

In other words, if 1% of Toyotas stink, you still have a chance of buying that 1%. I think your jersey's okay.

Yes I know the photos don't directly show whether or not the jersey is real, but it shows a number of illogical differences which would not exist if they were both real, cuz if they were both authentic, they would naturally be the same (or have only little differences). The sponsor logos have fixed sizes and I believe the official producer would not purposely or accidentally make it 1 cm shorter as they are produced from machines.

More importantly, the seller suddenly admitted that the sponsor logo is a DIY product, but the shirt is real, either way, he's taking return, thanks for taking a look

I really would not be concerned by this...
The seller is definitely legit, i have bought player spec shirts from him on multiple occasions and i have never had problems before...
As for your shirt, all these things you have suggested just make me think that your shirt has been made for an other market outside the UK. And as house-of-shirts is German this does not surprise me at all.
In Germany they have access to alot of our player spec kit that many fans in this country don't get a chance to get a hold of (in general) . Ie. Alot of, Liverpool and Chelsea kit made for player use, as the techincal supplier is German... But also other kit manufacturers offer different products to Germany that we do not get over here, for example in Germany, Nike Europe released over 200 Celtic player issue shirts for general sale to shops... that actually have never been offered to ANY supplier chain in the UK.
However saying that the shirts in question are not the same as the ones actually used by the team. Although both code 7, there were various differences. And its just because they are different does not in any way make them fake just more likely to have been made for a different market.
