ah, I completely forgot about printing... that's a bit of a bummer...
Yes I would definitely advise selling it, especially if the tags are still on, as it will be a lot easier to sell : ) and if it is a hero printed shirt, you'll have lots of punters wanting to get a brand new Man U shirt.
My advice is to probably sell on eBay like you indicated mate, However I would go about it this way...
I'll tell you why;
- If you open in to international bidders, and offer postage to many of the jurisdictions in the East, you will allow recently football crazy chaps from Hong Kong and Japan and Korea for example to access it.
They are spending more and more on football as the Premier League expands globally into a truly internationally recognised league, because players such as Park, Ki and Nakamura begin to get into massive clubs such as United and Glasgow Celtic (where interest is worldwide and games are beamed from the UK, to the US, from Arabia to Zimbabwe... And as a lot of the shirts they have out there are extremely expensive to buy, just check the price of the average Premier League jersey in Japan, its extortionate!
These guys are also quite brand happy, and are extremely keen to be able to prove that their shirts are the real deal, so are far more likely to bid and buy shirts with official tags : ) so you should be all right there... One of the best examples of this was when Shunsuke Nakamura came to Celtic, there was stories of people buying Celtic jerseys direct from Glasgow to ensure the authenticity of the shirt, at great expense, and even wearing the shirt with the tags left on to show others that the were official!
- Also a lot of their jerseys made outside of Europe are different to the ones made for the UK market , ie. different quality, slight variations in design (smaller sponsor for example) So buying a kit from the UK can pose quite a plus point for many buyers in the East... As these are 'the ones you get in Manchester' for example
- Another thing that will make your shirt quite sell-able online is the printing, fans love to have big players on the back of the shirts, especially those from the East, again. However many of the football fans out their actually don't have the official name and numbers on the back like we do, as they get sold an awful lot of imitation goods... which we thankfully aren't subjected to in the UK. So official EPL printing will be a good plus for you shirt
Hopefuly this helps,
Cheers,
And P.S
And also in that case (as you have printing)
It really wouldnt have been advisable to get it shrunk as the nameset and number might be damaged by any variation in the material. Which would leave it crinkled and looking rather naff to say the least.
