Match Worn Seller Help: tifosoccer & 3-antiques 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Was looking at some shirts on eBay, and saw both of these sellers on there, tifosoccer in Argentina and 3-antiques in the US. Both of these dealers have very good feedback ratings, but I don't hold much stock in those. Has anybody dealt with either of these dealers, and could tell me if their shirts are real or not?

Thanks

among collector's both are known as 'suspicious' and than I'm even expressing my self mildly.

They always have just too many big names which go out for ridiculous prices. If something is too good to be true, most of the time it is.

Make your homework about the shirts you are interested in, ask the right questions and I'm sure their mask will fall off pretty soon.

3-antiques is also a guy who is badging up shirts for years. The only thing is when it gets to hot under his feet, he changes username, address etc., but it's still the same guy.

Hi there.

As previously stated by a previous poster.. big name shirts on eBay for reasonably low prices are normaly fishy.
The fact of the matter is that badgeing up shirts is easier than ever before... player issue spec shirts are common as muck and player issue patches and namesets can be found easily from reputable retailers all over the world. Making 'badging' them up really easy and simple. Making a couple of patches a shirt and a nameset worth over 4 or 5 times their real value. So although they may be 'player spec' it is extremely unlikely any of the players names on the back of the shirt will have seen the jersey in question... which they would have if it was match prepared.
Another thing to think about is that the Argentinian site seems to have what I would call a "contemporary scope" I find it extremely dodgy that his inventory consisists mainly of in form stars of this years world cup and legeneds of the game.... Most collectors/sellers/dealers will have a few mediocre stars and even flops for sale... but not that guy.... just extremely high demand items.... sounds far from 'a bit off' to me
As said previously if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.. and if in doubt pay that little bit more to people in your own country who are reputable in their own right... known collectors with an interest in the hobby... if they wont buy a fake or manufactured shirt... they wouldn't sell one. So you are far more likely to get the real deal

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks guys, but one more question, most of tifo's items are match issue. If he was faking why would he be selling issue shirts, wouldnt there be more money in worn? For 3antiques most of his shirts dont seem all to great in his past sales. He has some everton issue, and some lower level players. Again, wouldn't he go for bigger players if he were faking?

Thanks for your help

I've dealt with both.

Tifo has sold me solid match issue shirts, however, 3-antiques had sold a "match worn" Berbatov shirt which I had some issues with.

It was a UEFA spec (smaller AIG logo) size Large White 3rd kit sold to me as match worn against West Ham. I was able to send it back for a refund but it wasn't the smoothest transaction.

The most important advice I can give is to simply DO YOUR RESEARCH before purchasing, and always negotiate if you think a shirt may be overpriced.

Just to clarify, this IS NOT Berbatov's correct size, and the shirt was EPL spec (the shirt had the smaller AIG logo)

He was, however, very helpful when I went to return this shirt after realizing it was not what it was described to me. Also communicates well.

Bottom line, do your research, ask questions, and ask more questions. Try to obtain additional, detailed photos, if possible.
