Gold Sleeve Patches for Leicester City

E-mail

football-league-gold-sleeve-patches.jpg

The winners of each football league division will be wearing gold sleeve patches next season.

Leicester City players will take to the pitch during the 2009/10 campaign wearing special gold sleeve patches on both home and away shirts.

The colour change differs from the traditional Coca-Cola red in recognition of the club's League One title victory.

And Foxes supporters will soon be able to purchase the patches from the City Megastore at the Walkers Stadium and online to apply to the 125th Anniversary jerseys.

Thanks to James

Surely these will only be worn by the winners of League One and Two? Wolves will be wearing Premier League badges and Burton didn\'t win a Football League title?

Is that you trying to blame the Americans for the Brits copying something that the Americans don\'t actually do? Granted, some teams over there do occasionally wear a champions patch the following season, but it\'s at their own discretion and not directed by the leagues.

Why do people always assume that everything that they don\'t like in British sports is the fault of the Americans when time and time again Brits have proven to be perfectly capable of ****ing things up for themselves?

I don\'t like the fact that Brentford haven\'t been mentioned yet on this page, even though they will be wearing these golden patches next year!

Does not make sense..... confusing idea.... should the uefa cup winner wear a champion badge at the UCL too? the badge represent a defending champion, but after you got promoted you are just struggling at the bottom of the league.

I think I agree. It should only be for the top team in the top level of the country. But these patches will sell, and that\'s all that matters nowadays.

I know Celtic won\'t be wearing the SPL champions this year but I wish the SPL would change to gold batches rather than the horrible yellow ones that are in use at the moment. They really do stick out like sore thumbs.

Very nice though.
