New Luton Town Crest

Luton Town revealed their new club crest.

Eagled-eyed supporters who travelled to Devon will have already seen the new design on the playing staffs' new tracksuits while those fans who have been to the previous two home friendlies may have been able to make it out on the new scoreboard.

As you can see, the badge is a modernised version of the existing crest, incorporating the town's coat of arms but with a cleaner look.

Hatters' Managing Director Gary Sweet said: "We have modernised the badge to give it a more appealing look to our fan base by giving it a stylish, crisper and cleaner make-over.

"This change to the badge is one we are updating and revolutionising the club's ever-important and growing image at a time when the club's rebirth begins with a fresh start and a clean slate on and off the pitch."

Thanks to Ben

Hats are made in Luton (or atleast in the Old days) thats why they have a hat and the bee thing is the coat of arms in Luton

Have to say, i\'ve always been a fan of the old \'LT\' crest they used for a time in the 80\'s. Just think it looks better. Should have a retro style kit and the \'LT\' crest. Would look smart IMO.

Makes sense that the badge is now orange / navy / white to go with the team\'s colours... especially now they\'ve gone back to an orange home shirt - the red on the badge would\'ve looked even more incongruous.

I think they\'ve done a really good job with it

The old one looks quite scruffy in comparison to the new, and it should please the fans in that they\'re maintaining the tradition.

Agree with DronnyBlade, the 80\'s LT badge should return but save for the text font change and the year Luton was established added then what is the point.
Except of course, having to do a kit change with new badge and fleecing fans again.

Why the **** do they have a hornet? They\'re rivals with the \'orns of Watford. Not that it\'s any use, with them in Blue Sqaure and us in the CCC.

Get rid of the Wasp/Hornet thingy.

It\'s a bee and has always been on our badge... much better than a certain moose.

Thankfully we\'ve deliberately got rid of the prominent yellow and red on the badge... I wonder why?

Anyway, the orange kit used on Tuesday was a work-in-progress. Apparently the actual kit will be a more toned down orange.

Too unimportant to worry about now for a pikey team in the Conference.

I can see what they\'ve done and why theyve done it - it looks alot less \'clip-arty\' whilst keeping the same concept. Actuqally i think i really like it.

when the likes of Bolton and Tottenham re-styled their club crest\'s people noticed but I don\'t think Luton\'s \"new\" crest will get any notice

It was a hornet originally, but in true ****ford style it ran away.

I\'ve already decided not to renew my season ticket and watch some \'other\' non league football down the A505 at Barton Rovers, Hitchin Town and possibly even our new local rivals Stevenage. It\'s not just me either, a lot of other fans are totally disillusioned with the way the club has been run but this just takes the prize. We should really have used the money towards perhaps bringing in a new player or developing our academy.

Like a lot of fans I\'m beginning to now hate Luton Town FC and what it is becoming.

Are you being serious?

I don\'t think the fans, players and board have ever been more united.

What an odd post.

An improvement - though I still hate muncipal crests... they\'re a constant feature of dreary lower league football - see under Accrington Stanley, Bury, old Wigan... (I speak as a supporter of a dreary lower league club).

PS Does anyone know ift here is a site that specialise in club logos / badges and developments there...NOt sure if it\'s FSC\'s interest?

I only ask because I\'ve got a geeky fascination with this aspect of footies too. Horrified at Swindon\'s new badge last year; baffled by Notts County\'s new school blazer badge...etc.

Any ideas?
