Starting in December 2002 some articles were published here about the design and application of shirt numbers on football shirts. In 2005 these articles were integrated in one website, giving an overview of all subjects related to shirt numbers.

In the theory section the effect of the design on legibility and character is discussed.
Then, some examples are discussed of the ways in which shirt numbers are used by companies, leagues and teams.
In the prospects a summary is given of the state of affairs and I show some alternative shirt number designs.
