Only days after the launch of the Middlesbrough 08/09 Home Errea kit vote, Middlesbrough Football Club has sealed its biggest ever sponsorship deal after signing an extension to its current agreement with Garmin. The one-year extension means the name of Garmin will continue to appear on Boro's shirts during the 2008-09 season. The world leader in satellite navigation equipment, Garmin had initially signed a 12-month principal sponsorship contract for 2007-08 but both parties are delighted to have agreed a longer deal.

PUMA, which sponsored all five African teams at the 2006 FIFA World Cup™, is again at the forefront of African football when the 2008 African Cup of Nations kick-off on Sunday in Ghana. As the official supplier to a dozen national teams across Africa, PUMA will be worn by nine of the 16 teams in the tournament, including hosts Ghana and defending champion Egypt. The Chicago Fire will have a new look for the 2008 season. The players will be sporting a new jersey sponsored by Best Buy. The two organizations recently completed a three-year, multi-million dollar deal announced on Tuesday afternoon. "This is huge," Fire defender C.J. Brown said. "When I started with the Fire our sponsors were league sponsors. This is another big step in the right direction for the league and also for the Fire. You're in good company when you have Best Buy in your corner."

Adidas and A.C. Milan today announced the extension of their sponsorship deal until the end of 2017. Under the new agreement adidas will also design, produce, distribute and promote a wide range of non-sport related A.C. Milan merchandising articles. According to the Corriere dello Sport the contract with the giant German sports manufacturer will earn the Rossoneri €10.5m a season, meaning that between now and 2017 the club will receive €105m.

Corriere dello Sport says Inter Milan are on the verge of an 140 million Euro-plus kit agreement with Nike. The club's contract with Nike, which previously ran until 30 June 2009, was worth around 9 million euros a season. The next one will run ten years, and it will be worth more than any other contract ever agreed between the American sports brand and a football club (not counting the Brazilian national team).

Medial Saúde (Medial Health), with colours adapted, is new sponsor of Corinthians. In the same week in that they enclosed the contract with the Samsung, the club found an agreement with the medicine branch company Medial Saúde, to try to recuperate its financial health. The president Andrés Sanchez officially presented the new partner of Corinthians in the beginning of the night of last Thursday, in the Parque São Jorge. Vice president of marketing of the club, Luiz Paulo Rosenberg confirmed the official values: R$ 16.5 millions in 2008.

Adidas may lose its contract with the French national football team to rival Nike after its contract with the team expires in 2010, Wirtschafts Woche reported, citing industry sources. Both Adidas and Nike declined to comment on the matter, the magazine said. The Fédération Française de Football (FFF) and adidas last year extended their partnership agreement in 2001 until 2010. Adidas and the French Federation have enjoyed an extremely successful partnership for well over 30 years.
