Its been reported in Brazil that Adidas is to test Nike's commitment as CBF sponsor allegedly offering three times the amount currently offered by Nike.

The CBF and Nike prolonged their contract last year, signing up until 2018. However, there's nothing to stop a pre-contract been signed.

"I can’t comment on the news", responded Luciano Kleiman, Adidas’ marketing director in Brazil, "But contacts with national organisations form a regular part of our business". He refused to comment on claims that the CBF and Adidas had met several times, causing panic in the Nike ranks.

Match worn one-off Florius sponsored Ajax Shirts E-mail

Collectors of Ajax matchworn shirts will try to get their hands on the one-off match worn Ajax shirts sponsored by Florius, which they worn today, April 1st 2007.

Mortgage company Florius was a one time shirt sponsor of Ajax Amsterdam during todays competition match Ajax - Heracles Almelo (3-0)

This initiative has been taken for the introduction of Florius as the new mortgage brand of the Dutch ABN AMRO Mortgages Group, that on 19 March officially has been launched.

Especially for this one time occasion, the more greater part of the expressions, on which generally the names ABN AMRO are mentioned, like boarding, commercials and the clothing of the first team are changed to Florius.

Juventus and Fiat sign 3 year sponsorship deal E-mail

Fiat signed a memorandum-of-understanding with Juventus Football Club to become the 'official sponsor' of Juventus in all competitions for three years from July 1, 2007.

At the end of last year, Olinvest BV, owner of the Tamoil petrol station chain, ended talks on a revamped sponsorship deal after Juventus' relegation to Serie B in match-fixing allegations.

'The memorandum foresees a fixed payment for Juventus of 33 mln eur plus a variable amount determined by sporting results in national and international competitions,' Fiat said in a statement

Hamilton "accies" Academical sign nike deal 07/08 E-mail

The Scottish first division club Hamilton Academical F.C. (1874) known locally as "The Accies" have clinched a new kit deal with sportswear giants Nike.The deal, which is effectively a ‘rolling contract’, is expected to last for at least three years, starting with season 2007/08.

Hamilton’s new kit is a traditional hooped design, with Nike design features which include mesh side-panels on the shirt.

After agreeing a "very amicable" severance with Wishaw-based suppliers TFG, it is hoped that Hamilton will wear the new Nike-branded kit in their last game of the season, against St Johnstone at New Douglas Park on April 28.

Italy in Puma beyond the 2014 World Cup E-mail

PUMA and the Italian Football Association (FIGC) have announced the continuation of their successful partnership beyond the 2014 World Cup and therewith reconfirm the contract signed in 2003 and renewed in November 2005.

The FIGC has underlined the long-term strategic partnership with PUMA especially with regards to the EURO 2008 and the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

PUMA will be the technical sponsor of all on-field, sideline, training and representation apparel and equipment to the associated Men’s and Women’s National Teams including the Futsal and Beach Soccer Teams beyond the 2014 World Cup.

Toronto FC unveil BMO on adidas jersey E-mail

Toronto FC unveiled their striking new jerseys at a media event held at sponsor BMO Bank of Montreal's First Canadian Place branch in downtown Toronto. Maurice Edu, the first pick in the 2007 Major League Soccer (MLS)

SuperDraft and Toronto FC's first pick in team history, wore the new jersey for photographers, reporters and guests who attended a news media briefing at the corner of King and Bay Streets in the heart of the city's financial district.

The jersey is manufactured by adidas and features distinctly European styling. .

LA Galaxy sign AEG & Herbalife sponsor deal E-mail

AEG, operators of Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy, and Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE: HLF), a global nutrition direct-selling company, announced a five-year, between $3.5 million and $5 million a year expansion of Herbalife's agreement with AEG making Herbalife the presenting sponsor of the Los Angeles Galaxy. The agreement gives Herbalife on-jersey exposure for its brand beginning with the upcoming 2007 season, which begins April 8.

"The national and international appeal of soccer and of the Los Angeles Galaxy club in particular, is a natural fit for our global philosophy of promoting a healthy, active lifestyle" said Herbalife CEO Michael O. Johnson.

Birmingham city sign Umbro kit deal 07/08 E-mail

Birmingham City and Umbro have rekindled their relationship from past years as the two sign a three-year sponsorship deal that will last until the 2009-2010 season.

 Umbro’s contract as the club’s exclusive manufacturer of all playing and training supplies harkens back to the 1970s and 1980s, when a similar contract existed between the two.

Birmingham City will be replacing their former supplier, Diadora, to join the ranks of Umbro’s high profile portfolio clubs. This portfolio includes other top league players such as England, Everton, Rangers, West Ham, West Bromwich Albion, Celta Vigo, Lyon, FC Dinamo, Malaga, and CSKA Moscow.
